Same as happened to me - I got a cert. of recognition and a gift of 25 bucks at a ritzy italian joint early in the year.

Don't think it's tied in, but I got a raise that starts tomorrow, myself! (Boss told me Thursday)

I have also a success to report. ….a month ago my manager and his manager found out about my search and spent an hour trying to convince me to stay, since my performance improved so dramatically. That felt really good but what felt even better was when I actually got that new job last week. It was a job I've always wanted (within my current company).
I am starting in January and I cannot wait. I really need/want a
fresh new start and am super excited about it.
YEAH, US!!!
Just another proof we are all smart people, if I say so myself :-)
So CG, yes 'rainman' is a fair description , no foul, no birds, no alfred.
Fried, did your computer take on your personality? I built my own and it took on ADHD with it! single tasks, it can run really fast, but doesen't multitask without 'crashes'
! So I'm building a faster one to see how fast of a crash I can be in!!
Way to go Countrygirl!
I have also a success to report. 3 or so moths ago I was almost fired mainly because of the inability of my manager to manage people but my ADD also played a secondary role. Since then I got tested, got on meds, "got my act together" by continuing to work 13 hours a day (this time with increased focus) and started working on getting another job, just in case and where I won't have to work such long hours - it's pretty hard on your body in the long run.

So in the long run, everything worked out, I confirmed my ADD, learned to deal better with it and got a new job with hopefully a better manager. What a great Christmas present!
Yay, Countrygirl ! Very happy for you! So glad to see you truly happy : )

P.S. My computer heard and promptly died....I am visiting on our 700 Mhz Hewlett Packard the teen boys use.
Oh, and I'm working late to finish the work that I should have been doing when I was on the board and playing around. Think I played around much more before though. AND - she didn't even mention that I was 30 minutes late this morning.
Still - I claim success, I am moving in the right direction.
Today my boss said that my job performance has improved so much that she wanted to reward me and gave me a .00 gift certificate to Starbucks! Hooray! Should I reward my doc? Nevermind, I make her Mercedes payment.
(This is after switching to Adderall xr)
Countrygirl38685.6063541667Congratulations!!!
There is no greater reward than Starbuck's. How'd it go, DavieO? Coffee is cocaine? Long live Starbuck's!
Playtime is important! I engage in it for a minimum of 16 hours a day...woooooooohoooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!!!
sincere praise is hard to come by. it is probably less than you deserved!
does she know that the coffee will probably help you even more? praise and coffee can be a powerful motivator, non?

Thanks, Rainman.
Did I call you Rainman? Sorry 'PairmanCgirl - I knew you could make it. Same as happened to me - I got a cert. of recognition and a gift of 25 bucks at a ritzy italian joint early in the year. Not that I needed it much but it's always nice to know I'm appreciated. A year ago I was honestly counting the days until someone discovered I am an idiot and canned me as I deserved.
So good for you! Chalk up another one for us good guys and gals! And yes the dexedrine family does that a lot - for me it was the difference between a cycle of self-hate, fear and failure and all the good stuff.
Kudos!!!!
Thanks, Glen - What a difference a focused brain can make. It is nice to be appreciated. It is also nice to be able to complete a task. Meds have opened up a whole new life for me.AWSOME!!!!!!!!
ps i havent lost my keys since july
Way 2 Go CG !
