Thanks taritac for the info.  i was wondering, do they perscribe meds on the first visit or will i have to wait for a while?Hi, I'm new here.  my first session is tomorrow and i'm kind of nervous because i don't know what to expect.  could someone please tell me what normally happens during the first visit to the doctor?  Thanks. lala_700138685.9294675926.....lol...thx Wordwoman!

I've only had one visit-- it consisted of talking about what brought me there (why I think I've got ADD, what my difficulties have been, etc.) and a 344 question personality questionnaire. My visit lasted about 1.5 to 2 hours. They've invited me back for more testing.

taritac38686.0568287037The reason nobody has replied so far is because the procedure  is.. very painful.  I hope you're ok with needles.  But, don't worry!  The only place they put them is in your eye.  You'll get through it ok.

There was no discussion about medication for me, but I think other people have had different experiences.

The hospital I'm seeing my psychologists at is known for being more research oriented than clinically oriented, so I think I'm probably going to be tested to death before we ever get around to doing anything.
