 rayray812  you havent seen the irish system, there is no help available, they are at least 15 years behind USA on this matter, teachers cant even recomend that a child gets tested, there are no 504'S or class assistanses, the kids dont get the remidial help they need, they might get four hours of occupational therapy a year, at a cost of €200 an hour, and this is what they call help, in south africa i got four hours of occupational therapy a week for three years. something realy needs to change here. there is basicly no suport, all it takes is a few dedicated indivules to spark change, i just hope i can be one of them.

Is It Not Amasing What We Can Acheive When We Put Our Minds To It!

Good Job!! Hi all, just thort i would tell you about a great oppertunity that i have had, yesterday i was privliged enough to give a talk at my collage, a talk about ADHD, i am currently in my first year of studying child education and development, my supivisors were awear of my ADHD and new that i want to work with these great kids in the future, on tuesday one of my lectures aproached me and asked if i would give a lecture on ADHD, not just to my course but also to the social care students and the teachers assistants studints, what an oppertunity, well i couldent decline, i went home and worked for 5 solid hours trying to put together a presintation, that was the easy part, yesterday i had to deliver a lecture to i dont know how many students, most of whom are in second or third years, WOW, i was terrafied but i had to do it, it was to late to back out. i knew that 90% of the students knew nothing about adhd so i decided to try and put all the basics in to the lecture, you know the stuff i mean, when i first started i was terrafied, i have huge social isues and this for me was like mount everist, well it went great, i even got asked by one of the social care teachers, who works in the social care system to work with two of her worst children, i cant belive it, this is my dream, this is what i want to do, i want to give children the kinda help that i got that has helped me to succede, i want to work with there pairents, i want to stop ADHD kids from fgalling through the system, hell i want to change the system and by doing so give our BRILLIANT ADHD kids the best future imaginable.
