I think most regular general practice doctors will refer you to a psychiatrist. They most likely would not prescribe a medication for a condition like ADD without a diagnosis.
Although I have heard of regulat docs diagnosing kids. I am not sure they really should be doing that because there are so many other problems that can look like ADD.
How is the best way to get medication for ADD? Do I have to see a psychiatrist, or can the family doctor diagnose and prescribe meds?
