Anyone in UK?Its almost impossible to get diagnosed with ADD here in England -- I believe, there are literally only 2 centers that actally specialise - at The Maudsley Hospital in South London and one clinic in Cambridge. It is just not understood here. Is there anyone in the UK who suspects they are ADD/ADHD. I am a filmaker who feels that my mental health probs maybe due to this and I thought there could be some milage in researching the subject with a view to making a film. It is just becoming recognised as a condition for children here but as for adults --- no one knows anything --- allovertheplaceHi I am from England. It seems impossible to get diagnosed over here. Doc is sending me to see someone in the NEW YEAR! i got diagnosed without any difficulty but i went private. there is a great psych at the Priory in Roehampton in London but he is private and you need a GP referral to see him anyway. in fact, my GP diagnosed me - rather than me knowing anything about ADD myself. then referred me to this psych. a really nice guy btw. if you would like some more info and are prepared to fork out for private (or have private health insurance that covers you) then private message me --- as i won't give out his details on a general forum. lots of luck with it. cj |
