why does this thread say ADD? | ADHD Information

ADHD could have invented beer.  Wouldn't surprise me.

If you go to the main page that lists all the posting threads for this board, you will see the headings in blue - the first says Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder ADHD - most of the threads are under that heading - the second one says Attention Deficit Disorder ADD and the Adult ADHD is under that thread.  It is the only one under that heading.  I find it weird,  I was just asking.

I think I've been crawling too much.  I would have never noticed it before

 

 

No. Invented this ADHD board in and ADD Chapter.

Why does this thread have the heading of ADD and then the threads under it are about ADHD in adults?  That doesn't make sense to me.

Shouldn't this thread be for the issues that are dealing with ADD - the inattentive side of ADHD?

I'm glad they didn't split the board into ADD and ADHD. I think a lot of people who come here are not yet diagnosed. I, for one, don't really know which I've got-- I think I've got indications of both.

You may have noticed we bounce the term ADHD around for both ADD and ADHD - as the term ADHD is pretty much given for both Hyper and inattentive type.  When we talk about ADHD and have been in the game for a while - then we tell people it's ADHD - inattentive type.  It's just so we can all stick to one term!

To break it up - as taritac said it would cause a lot of confusion especially in new people to ADHD.  That's why it's best we keep it the way it is I think.

I agree, Glen, but the board has the "adult ADHD" thread under the ADD heading.  I thought that was weird.  I would think that the "Adult ADHD" thread would be under the ADHD heading. 

There isn't anything else under the ADD heading. 

I think it is just a typo or something.
