In addition to a neuropsychologist, sometimes an evaluation by a good child psychiatrist is helpful if you suspect anxiety, depression, mood disorder, etc. Pediatricians are great first-line resources on many childhood illnesses, but they quite frankly are not qualified to diagnose complicated neurological disorders like ADHD. How do you get a true diagnose for addhd and odd my sons dr diagnosed him by a paper that his teacher and I filled out. Nancy Questionnaires are subjective, and I do not trust them, at all. I believe that the best way to get a good diagnosis is to take your child to a neuropsychologist, who will spend hours testing and observing your child. Good luck and welcome to the board! |
