Adderall XR vs Dexedrine Spansules | ADHD Information

For those that have tried both of the above, is there a significant difference between the two meds duration of action?

I've been taking the Dex Spansules for over a month now and find it works very well(better than Ritalin) but it wares off faster than it says it should. My doc had originally told me it should last 8-10 hrs and I find it lasts only 5-6hrs for a 20mg dose. He has recently upped me to 30mg's to see if that helps, but it only seems to extend it by around an hour. He told me at my last visit if the 30mg's doesn't last much longer, he'll try me on Adderall XR.

Is there much difference between the two? Does Adderall XR last much longer than the spansules?
