The Clothes Line | ADHD Information

The longest time that I have left clothes on the line and forgot to take them off was probably during the rainy season and it was probably 3 weeks - can anyone out do that!!!!

I once accidentially left a pen in my pocket when putting it through the wash. Of course it happened to be a load with a lot of nice stuff in it. I ended up ruining nearly 0 worth of clothes.

I once left some things on the line because they didn't dry for so long that I had to throw them out. Now, unless it is a hot day and I know they will dry and I will be able to bring them in, I don't even try the line. Its too easy to ignore. I tend to leave clothes in the dryer so long they get wrinkled, then I have to put a damp wash cloth in and rerun it to get them out. I will take out what I need and have to do the same thing over the next day.

I absolutely hate doing laundry and dishes! They both take so long and have so many little pieces that it is torture to have to take the time to do them. I have a dishwasher now and even hate to put the clean dishes away!

I have found that if i set a timer that when it goes off i remember that i stuck stuff in the washer or dryer. if it is the dryer i set it to go of 10 min after the dryer is to go off. That way two things are going off.

I have left stuff in the washer for 4 days and then had to wash them alot to get the smell out.

I washed a pen in a load with mine and my wife's (girlfriend at the time) cloths.  Ruined lots (almost the relationship.)  That was before we knew I was ADD.  I also washed red sweat pants with our whites (pink underwear all around!!)  We can laugh now...

How about length of time that clothes were left in the washer? 12 days for me. That was during finals week in school.Oh yes the washing machine - I have left things long enough in the washing machine that it took another 2 washes to wash the smell out again. That is why I use an electric dryer.

uhh on clothes related topics: i've used to have a pile of clothing that covered my half of the bedroom for about ..oh...ten years almost , it changed and varied in size and location, whether it be my closet or floor or combo or bed too..and my husband and i never ceased to fight about it.

memories! now (imagine a 50's style commercial in black and white with my very coiffed hair, starched apron and redlipsticked cheesy smile:)

i use adderall! plus wellbutrin, and as expected, my performance per the wifely cleaning standard has all but changed to normal! now isn't that great? i can now neatly fold my clothing with relative ease. if it weren't for wellbutrin, it would still be on my bedroom floor! thanks to these two lifesaving drugs, my floors are vacuumed clean, my kitchen is something my mother can stand to look at now. my husband has relaxed as his once wayward wife has started to blossom and become the full women he always saw her to be. my potential is fulfilled! my laundry is done! my day is better and the sun sets with dryer sheets....

yes talking also about washing up - I remember as a child (with adhd myself) that I would obsess over putting away the cutlery.  It would take forever.  I had to make sure that they were all placed correctly I would not be able to sleep that night if I knew I put a poor little baby tea spoon in with knives.  Mind you I dont remember drying up much else - except the spoons - hmmmm my poor suffering older sibs[QUOTE=barb]

Thanks for that tip - wet washer - it will get me out of ironing - my kids are sick of going to school wrinkled they are complaining - because I leave things in the dryer and I wont iron them because I dont want to get out the iron board and then the iron then the demineralised water, wipe down the iron - just for one dress. - grrrrrrrrrr but a wet washer sounds easy - bugger the electricity bill.

rae, If you don't have a lot in the dryer, you only need to run it for maybe 10 minutes. When I get a new dryer (in about 15 yrs since mine is fairly new still,) I intend to get one with a cool down cycle. I had a rental place once with one of those and your clothes cool down enough before the dryer stops that they don't wrinkle nearly as bad when you leave them in there!   BarbWell once again - my washing has been sitting in my washing machine for 3 days, I guess it is time to go and wash them again. I put dishes in a sink full of water with dishsoap fully intending to wash them, but then forget and sometimes let them soak for 3 days. I have to than start a whole new sink full of soapy water again (on the other side) and transfer all the dishes over and hope to actually wash them, but sometimes they end up just soaking for another day and I go through it all over again until I actually get them washed.

Argh!
bluebird - lol you need a diswasher.
