lets just say i have pemits to use fire hydrants & add
Reminds me of the time I burned the pop-corn..sure coulda used a hydrant. Had to through the pan away..
I love popcorn, think I'll go make some right now.. and not dare leave it's side while the stove is on!
Ugghhhh!!! I wish my exhusband could see this....I think when I did this that it was the begining of the end of our marriage....because I messed up our new home....
We built a brand new home and about a year and 1/2 ago I was filling up my tub (big one) and I ran down stairs and then to his study and he started asking me questions and we were talking when I all the sudden remembered that my water was running...well I had overflowed the tub onto the floor...it started leaking to downstairs and all in both of our closets...
We used a wet vac we had.... and vaccumed it up quickly...I took pots and put all over downstairs where it was comming out of the ceiling so it would not get on the wood floor...
Well when it was all over he kept saying how stupid I was and he was really freaking out...he really never treated me the same after that...It was like I ruined our marriage by the potential dammage I did to the home...two days later after things had time to dry..all moister was gone...ther were a couple of water stains on the ceiling downstairs ...but paint took care of them easily...nothing ever went wrong because of the overflow because we cleaned and dried it quickly...I make sure that at my current home I stay with the bath until it is full.
I let the pool runover all the time. Keeps the grass green. And the watercops in business.
I was famous for always burning one batch of cookies - I haven't burned any since I've been doing my Stopping ADHD exercises. I haven't burned dinner either. I usually burn dinner once a month at least. I usually can't get dinner going, and when I do, I burn it, or forget I'm cooking something.
I forget I'm watering the lawn, I don't even think about getting a timer for the lawn.
I just overflowed the sink in my room at school. (Actually, it could have been one of my student's fault. They take turns cleaning the sink and one of them could have put in the plug. Well, it has a leak in the drinking fountain part that runs into the sink to drain - so possibly it wasn't me after all.)
One day a few years ago, I flushed the toilet and I went to get on my computer just a little way down the hall from the bathroom. I heard the water still running and thought someone was taking a shower. Silly me - there was a flood coming down the hallway with an inch of water on the floor before I noticed it wasn't someone taking a shower!!!
I have overflowing piles of papers everywhere.
Since I've been crawling with my exercises, I don't overflow things very much. I still have piles, but they are going down instead of up. I can get organized.
I have noticed such a difference, it is strange.

Tell me about the "Stopping ADHD exercises"..what are they how do you find out what to do? Tell me tell me!!!!
Yes . . . lol, thanks for asking.I am forever burning grilled cheese sandwhiches because I get side tracked. If one turns out golden brown it is time for celebration. Yup, once a year I have a celebration.
I HAVE to use timers for watering the lawn or I'll leave on all day & night & day. LOL One time I kept watering the lawn while a thunderstorm dumped 3 inches and the next morning happened to notice I was still watering the grass.
CreativeCrazy,
I found a book at Barnes and Noble called Stopping ADHD written by O'Dell. You can get the first edition at your local library. Some people have found it there. Or you can get it on line on Amazon for .00 to .00.
I have posted about them quite a bit on the alternative thread on this board. Just look for my post called "crawlers unite!"
Also the parent thread has a post that is called "crawling?" started by Tater.
If you want more information, I can let you know how I do the exercises, just pm me.
Anni
overflowing things? No way - my mother was a nasty person when it came to that - we ALL would have been flayed if that happenend. Pet peeve of hers. I go back to a tub over and over in fear of it still.
I have burned things - rarely. Once I went to sleep with a kettle on the stove - supposedly with a whistle to tell me when it's done. I fell asleep with the TV on - no whistle. Woke up with massive smoke from handle melting - thankfully I was able to air out the apartment and it wasn't serious. But could have been.
OMG!...I had my thoughts runneth over!!!
That's too funny. You just reminded me of when I overflowed a sink at work several years back! I guess it doesn't matter really what it is, if we walk away from it, it's as good as off
Oh yeah, I overflowed my swimming pool about a month ago! Left the water on all night and deeply soaked the grass and a tree too.
Do you have overflow problems?
I keep turning on the hot and cold water faucets, then I will turn one off and walk away and never realize that the other is still running.
Several years ago, I was staying in a really nice hotel where the bathrooms were carpeted. I overflowed the tub so badly that the carpte was soaked not only in the bathroom but several feet out into the bedroom. I was there for a week and it took 3 days to dry even after maintainance sucked it up with their machine.
