I believe that it is allowed again. I read that somewhere on the board recently. It was banned due to about 20 deaths from patients having undx heart conditions. I suppose that after further evaluation it was found safe.

My 9 year old son is on Adderall XR 20mg and believe me, has NO memory loss at all. He remembers everything - even things I wish he'd forget. Sometimes I have to ask him what happened a while ago because I can't remember! I did read in a magazine where college students are taking Adderall to help them study and pass exams. i have been researching adderall and the side effects sound a little scary. many people report loss of memory. is this long term? or do you get your memory back when you go off it?
i'm planning to go to law school and need my wits about me. is adderall not the way to go if you need a good memory for your work...?
i'm on adderall and i have to say it's working pretty good but i grow a tolerance to it really fast. i'm taking 25mgs a day and i feel tired by 2 pm, my psych. is raising my dosage 5mgs a month. to me this seems to slow of a pace.how much do other people get they're adderall every month?burger, thanks. that's good to know. as for taking meds for the right reasons... when i was in college, i couldn't read my textbooks. i would stare at ONE page for literally 3 or 4 hours at a time and not be able to get through more than one paragraph. after doing this for several semesters, i realized that what used to be an inconvenience (the adhd) was a serious problem.
i was embarrassed and never did anything about it, but now that i have seen a doctor and see a light in the tunnel, i have decided to apply to law school (something, i never thought i could do due to my inattentiveness). i'm taking meds so that i can live my life. so that i can sleep in a house that isn't a pigsty, so that i don't hurt my friends' feelings when i talk to them, so that i can be productive at work. i think these are the "right" reasons for getting treatment. sorry if i sound a bit defensive, but i don't want anyone thinking that i'm some law school pill popper.
boywonder... i think increasing 5mg every month is a lot! there's a possibility that you will have to take meds for many years. at this rate, you'll need 100mg per day to get you by (an amount i doubt any doctor would actually prescribe!). how long have you been taking it and have you noticed any memory loss adderall?

As far as I can tell there's no clinical studies that show memory loss is an issue or side-effect. Adderall doesn't affect memory in any way. What it does do is improve the ability to focus which increases the chance that you will retain more in memory.
