There are many posts here about Strattera. Personally I tried Adderal and Concerta. Adderal helped me quite a bit, but Concerta didn't at all.
I am trying exercises from the book called Stopping ADHD. They are working for me like Adderal used to. I am quite excited by it.
My son is 9 years old. He is just being switched from ritilin to strattera. He has a very short fuse anyway so I will be interested to see if it makes it worse. I hope not!!! He has just started his 3rd. week on it he is up to 25mg. I really havn't noticed anything different yet. Thanks for the reply!
Hi all,
has anyone tried hydrcodone, and are there any side effects .I know everyone is different just curios.
You didn't mention your son's age, but mine is now 15 and he has been on Adderall for a very long time. I have tried Concerta and Strattera but I didn't like the personality change. It made him very angry and moody, always lashing out. He is a very joyful boy to be around, not moody but that med made him very moody. I also, didn't notice any effect on his being able to concentrate any better on it. Right now I am in the process of checking into Focalin - my doctor says it has great results with very few side effects. The only reason I'm changing from the Adderall, is it gives him headaches. - Good Luck, I know how frustrating this whole thing can be.- God Bless.
RAYMEE: i was trying to find a definition for this drug my friend told me about, all he could remember was focline and ive been searching for it, but i believe the drug you are talking about, focalin, is the correct name. My name is jillian, and my friend has adhd and he told me about this drug and he said that it was like ritalin for the first half an hour, but later he would halucinate and just want to kill himself. i just wanted you to know that is how he reacted. i belive it could be something else he is taking, or something in his body after all we all react differently. But i just wanted to say thank you for the correct spelling, and i think im going to go research it~but i just wanted you to know that that is how he reactedHeroin often lives up to it's reputation. Children are not defiant, in fact I'm sure they would go right to sleep. There is no better behavior control drug! Once you take the leap into highly addictive drugs for behavior control such as Ritalin, Concerta (all of them) why not go ahead with the drugs that do the trick every time?
Hi My son might be started on a new drug called Strattera. I was wondering if anyone has any stories for me. I am hopeing that it will be a positive change.
firstly - Fraud - you are reported again. You are beyond ridiculous with your postings. Again - I'm sure there's an abortion picket with your name on it somewhere. Pat Robertson called - he wants his ignorance back.
kyty - Stratterra has had it's poor responses with some but it seems to work well with extremely hyper ADHD kids. I can tell why it felt for me as an adult with very little hyper that it was like walking in glue. So I would assume it would take away a lot of the urge to be so prone to the hyper characteristics.
Just watch the progress and note any changes good or bad. There are many different meds and you should consider a pediactric psychiatrist to get good methods of coping.
I hope this works for you son.
Jillian:
Thank you for your reply. I'm sorry to hear that your friend had hallucinations on the Focalin. My son has been on it for two weeks now. So far, I have not noticed any tremendous change, but at least the headaches are not a complaint. He was excited one day that he actually remembered to bring his homework home. Unfortunately, I have not been told by the teachers that there is a big difference in school yet, but it's only been two weeks. Again, thank you for your reply, always interested in what others have to say. This is such a tough thing to go through alone.
