Concerta and depression? | ADHD Information

Since I started taking concerta I feel in a good mood during the day then at the end I have been feeling kind of down.  I've taken it two days so far.  Is this normal. Yep. Normal with most ADHD meds. Some of them act as natural
antidepressants. That's how you also know its working. It's just that by
the end of the day, you're back to normal so it's natural to feel down in
relative to your "happy" state. Just keep on going with it, it just gets
better.Well my normal state is not a depressed state.  i have acutally been in a very good mood this past month before the meds.  Have never had depression in my life.

I know exactly what you mean.  That happens to me in the evenings when my Adderall XR wears off.  I've just recently tried supplementing 5 mg of regular Focalin (not the extended formula) for when the Adderall wears off and to get me through the evenings.  It works out pretty well and only lasts 4 hours so I'm able to fall asleep just fine.  Just make sure you don't take it past 5 or 6 o'clock.  You can also do that with regular adderall or ritalin.  Hope this helps.

I only take concerta m-f. Only for work! Without it I would get fired for not doing anything. It makes me act wierd. My sence of humor goes to letterman. Normaly I am a Jay Leno. I get cranky when it wears off. I do not like taking it but it is only a work affair!
