Haven't played one for more than a few minutes since starting my therapy. Just no desire at all! It's the dexedrine I know that.
I used to be a junkie since the days of "Pong". Then it was stealing quarters from parents and spending every waking moment in the arcade. Remember those things?
Then nintendo, atari and colecovision. Then the home PC.
Now - I haven't got one installed. Well Civilization III - but I just can't get into it.
That's nearly worth the cost of the meds right there.
Naw.
addicted to the word search games on the merriam webster online LOL.. Especially the ones with the ducks quacking in the background.
Hello to all,
I'm in my late thirties, back in college, and coping with my ADHD. I take meds see a doctor, and talk to counselors (when I remember). I've been playing video games for many years. Not the fighting games, sports, or FPS, but mostly RPG's. Often I never finish them and have to buy a new one once a month to feel satisfied. (Impulse buy, but I get cheap and or used.)
Well, I can go for days, weeks, even a month or two, but I eventually feel the need/urge to play them, sometimes I just have to sit for 12-14 hours straight. With food and drink of course. Usually its in threee hour blocks. Getting rest or going back to sleep when I've woken up often has to have some gaming time. In fact I almost always fall asleep while playing for awhile, because I get so relaxed/over stimulated.
But, as I have been realizing the extant of my needs I have been researching the NASA studies and products that were created for helping ADHD kids/adults to focus and work better. So, I tried taking my Gameboy SP and play a little before morning classes, and I can focus the entire class! I began to realize just why I play video games, and why video games are my only vice, Its been a challenge to know when to play, and know when to work on homework instead. &nbs p; Now I have a new problem, addiction to the internet, my record - 12 hours, no stopping for food or drink, etc. does anyone else have these problems or benefits to video games.
I'll try and stop rambling,
TCassidy
