Yeah, thanks for bumping Tweedle, it kinda sucks that good drug promotions can end up at the bottom of the pile, it's good that we have people like you to artificially bump them back up and make it look like they are interesting.

I taught I daw a puddy tat. [QUOTE=GlenW]

I know the feeling you're having - you don't want to be upping your meds over and over.  With dexedrine and adderall there can be that "tolerance" where your body becomes used to the dose then you must up it time to time.

You forgot Ritalin -- and the technical term for the "tolerance" is called "addiction".

Here is the article. I also read that stimulants can shrink the brain because the contrict the blood vessels in your brain. Since I have been taking adderall I started taking Ginkgo Biloba and Vinpocetine which are supplements that increase cerebral circulation and have found them to be effective. They also help with the headaches.

CG - It was 3 months when I took the first vacation.  MD started me at 10mg and upped to 20 after 1st month.  Then it was 2 months on 20 before I needed the first week off it.

Just warn people around you you will be a bit cranky and forgetful and they can stay out of your way lol.

Has anybody ever taken adderall combined with wellbutrin to limit the dose of stimulant? I was just diagnosed with adult ADD and I can remember when I took wellbutrin for depression I could concentrate much better. I was thinking about talking to my doctor about taking the two together. Thanks for bumping Cyntiatweedle

Glen, How long were you on meds before you began taking "vacation" and are you on time realeased?  I've never had a vacation.

Right now - Wellbutrin 150XL + Adderall XR20

Bumping this thread because it's good. Welcome! I have taken Wellbutrin and Adderall for about 7 years (since I was 17) and have had great luck with the combination. Over time, the dose of each has had to be adjusted (450mg Well, 40mg Add)but neither has ever stopped working for me. They enhance each other. Adderall causes you to release extra dopamine and norepinephrine, and Well causes it to stay in the synapse longer. They're synergistic. I hope that helps some.Yes, thank you. If I have to take adderall for the rest of my life I don't want to be taking huge amounts. Maybe I can try that later and minimize the stimulant.

I use "med vacations" - where every 2 months I take one week off of them totally - cold turkey.  It's rough around day 5 but after I go back on them the original dose works so  wonderfully it's worth the effort!

Are you on therapy too? It is so important to do both - the meds help control but if you don't learn new ways to cope it's useless as a long-term solution.

I wish you well - and see about trying the 2 months on, one week off way.  It does make the meds last longer and better!

That's a good idea about the vacation. I am also looking into other things that work such as exercise, diet and supplements. I read a really good article that I will have to find and attach.

Yes, I'm getting therapy as well.

You'll find therapy to be the most useful tool you have in the end.  It works best when the meds are optimum and you can actually listen and do the exercises you'll learn.

Physical exertion works fantastic with dexedrine! I find that if I work as hard as I'm able where I work that the sweating out and pushing myself makes me feel 110 percent by the end of the day.  All my worries and fear washes away!

I'll look forward to seeing your article.  I read whatever people put up and try to take something away that's worthwhile.
