I agree with what was said above, try and get permission (you should from doc as they should always know what is happening) to up your dose slightly. Most have to at least once. My dexedrine worked at 10mg for about 3 months and 20mg works fine now at the end of my first year.
If that fails there is also the option of changing to another med combo. If adderall doesn't work for you there's dexedrine and ritalin.
Are you a capital H hyper ADHDer? Or are you inattentive ADHD - where you are mostly into yourself most days and don't have a lot of energy? It matters as different meds work best in different people.

Nice thing about XR is that you get the dose with less of the "bursts" and down time that the short release gets. I hear from others that supplement the XR with short release if the day is long and they still get a drop off at the end. I'm sure you will see a change - hopefully enough to make it work the best.I have inattentive ADHD. I spoke to my doctor today and she is going to switch me from Adderall to Adderall XR. Hopefully this will be more effective. This seems to have happened w me too. I upped the dosage from 5mg 2x day to 15mg which gave me headaches. So i went back down to 7.5 2x day for a week or so, today started on 10mg 2x day. Jimmy-I think its all about finding the right dose and or combo,good diet and excercise.Have you tried upping the dosage, Jimmy? Today was the first day in two weeks that I have felt anxiety and depressed and had trouble focusing. Two weeks ago I was put on Adderall and Lexapro and for those last two weeks I have never felt better. But for some reason today I felt the Adderall wasnt working and I felt like my old self again, very depressed and anxious. I continued to feel this way throughout the whole school today and still didnt feel right when I was hanging out with my friends later after school. Whats going on?!?! I am really getting worried because I have already tried concerta and strattera and those didnt work for me so I feel Adderall is my last chance. Adderall has been working very well to help me focus and has made me very motivated and now it has all of a sudden stopped working. Is the Adderall not working or is it the Lexapro not working and the depression and anxiety has all of a sudden come back due to the lexapro not working and that is whats making me incapable of concentrating? I tried calling my doc but she hasnt called me back all day. I need some advice on whats going on.
