Adults taking Concerta

I was recently dx with ADD and have been given Concerta. (18mg for a week and then up to 36mg)  I was wondering if there are any adults taking this and if you can give me any feedback on the drug.  Side affects, how it makes you feel, benefits etc.  Would appreciate any input ya'll have. Thanks.

MyDH was on Concerta for about 3 months...it was about all we both could take.  Poor guy went from being funny, friendly and laid back to mean, grumpy all the time and could flip in seconds.  He did not realize it at first...thank goodness we got him back to the doctor.  He has been on Metadate(didnt work for him) and is now on Adderall. So far he is doing great...

I know Concerta works for some...but it was not a good experience for us...just keep an eye out and ask your family to give you thier opinion on your behavior. Hope this helps...

Thanks all.  It has been so far so good.  The first week I noticed I kept getting heart burn.  I had next to no appetite.  That has changed a bit.  I am eating a bit more, but still not as much as I used to. (which isn't a bad thing)  I also have noticed that in the evenings I tend to get a bit irritable and can tell when the meds start to wear off.  Not too bad though, all in all thumbs up in my book.

I have been on Concerta for about 4 months. I am on 72 mg. My side effects are Sometimes when I stand up I get a head rush. I am not very funny. If I am not on meds I am really fun when I take them I can get pissed off easy. I can be a jerk around 7pm. I take them @ 5:30am so I think they are wearing off whe I get home. love itI would say so shanna.

This is common though. At least it gets you through the day.

It is when your days start melting together that I start to worry.

Mine do on adderall, but I am on to high of a dose. I have been calling my vacationing psy's office. I WILL be lowered.

I am brand new to Concerta, and was just put on 18mg last week.  I am experiencing very bad headaches, dizziness, irritablility, and a major loss of appetite.  I think it might just be my body getting used to the medicine, but if it keeps up I'm definatly going to go off of it.  Does anyone know if Adderall XR has less of these side effects? The headaches are killing me and my strange behavior is affecting my family.
