Lexapro | ADHD Information

I used to take Lexapro.  It is a good effective antidepressant.  Some insurance companies may not OK it because it's expensive.  Good for you in that you were able to get it.  My 11 yr. old son has started taking Lexapro. Today is his 2nd day. Has anyone heard of this med or been on it?  - AlwildaLexapro is actually Celexa-Plus. It's an SSRI antidepressant and not really approved for kids under 18. If your child has moodswings and possible bipolar, rather than ADHD, it could trigger worsening behavior. It's a red flag for bipolar if it makes your child rage. Lexapro, like all SSRIs, is slow building in the blood system and takes up to eight weeks for full effects, good or bad. I wish you luck and hope it works for your little precious one!
