Yes, my ins. co. does not pay for it - I pay for the generic Adderall (not XR) myself.
I don't know about when dosage needs to be increased. I'm sure other people out there can help you with that one.
I can definitely relate to driving yourself crazy about the mistakes, though. I have been driving myself crazy about a mistake at work that truly wasn't even my fault this time - and everything is okay now - but I still can't stop thinking about it.
My Adderall is not covered for adults either, but my doctor calls in a pre-authorization to the insurance company so I can get it at the cost of my co-pay.
Dabonbon
Wow - I never heard that they do that in some insurance companies. That would surely suck - though I'd still buy it at cost if I had to.
Have you tried for the nearest alternative to Adderrall XR? There's Dexedrine sulfate spansules - work nearly the same (and fantastic for me). It is cheaper to begin with (an older patent) - and seem to work just peachy for adults with inattentive ADHD.
Just a thought.
With regard to your second question, I am also curious to know how to know when to change dosage.
I don't know if you have a choice of health coverage - but where I am Kaiser Permanente covers the generic adderal.
Adhd meds aren't covered on my Bil at all. Some Dr.'s says adhd in adults isn't real.
Well it is definitely wise to change doctors is a doctor does not believe in adhad.
I would just like to try and help out any and all of you who can't get meds covered. I have a number that you could call. I am still waiting on applications for this place and it's supposed to help CA but I believe it's nationwide. So, if anything, they can refer you and are very nice people. It is a program where you either pay nothing for meds or very close to it. Here is the number: toll free, 866-662-1351. Good luck!!!
