computer games???? | ADHD Information
i have always loved cryptic crosswords, lateral or logical thinking
puzzles, iq tests and solitaire etc. etc. but yes, the one month that
my ADD lifted (thus making me realise that i had ADD - if you get what
i mean) suddenly i had absolutely NO interest in crosswords at
all. to the point when i was thinking - why would anybody waste
their time bothering with this?????????? it's boring, pointless,
has no practical use whatsoever and doesn't engage my brain in the
slightest!
(i still haven't worked out what it was that made the ADD symptoms go away for that short time)
now, i am fully back to being my usual ADDled-self i do the Times
cryptic crossword every day, pretty much. and have played 134
games of spider solitaire and managed to find two of
them that i can't in fact get to work out!!!!! i have them saved
on my desktop and occasionally go back to them but perhaps they
genuinely are non-workoutable???? so yeah, back to bad old ADD
traits.
gotta find that book! or just buy a new one - a Xmas present of getting a life to myself.... hmmm!

When I am on meds, and now that I have been crawling with the exercises in my Stopping ADHD book, I have noticed that I don't play computer games as much at all. I get bored with them.
When my ADD was really bothering me, I would sit for hours at the computer screen playing spider solitaire, or I would switch to checkers on line, or then I would go to chess on line. I could spend hours on these games.
When I'm on meds or now that I've been crawling, I am not at all obsessed with them like I used to me.
Is it like that for anyone else who is on meds?
I don't know about on meds because I've never gone on them but I do hyperfocus on games on the computer like word games for hours and yet couldn't sit still that long with anything else, not even a good movie.
