How a/b an ADHDer who's messed up so much in life, that he'll do anything for True Love, acceptance, and forgiveness. His first marriage ends up in a fractured failure. While not searching for a soulmate, one finds him b/c of his good looks and brilliant mind. Nevertheless, he cautiously reaches out, and during this period, he discovers he can Truly Love, and be Truly Loved, so he allows himself to Truly Love. However, she then ejects him, also. After a period of recovery, he decides to find True Love,  so he hyperfocuses on pursuing True Love. In pursuit of this True Love, he finds 'The One', but her parents and friends shun the perceived failure filled frickin' fractured freaky fellow too risky, and they sequester her from him. So he has to find creative ways to be with his True Love, so he chases her and invents a lot of cool things, and writes a lot of cool True Love poEms, and eventually True Love prevails, they are united, and this creates such a stir in the History of the World that their story is remembered forever, and although written in a strange language, the language of the ADHDer mind, some people get it, and they grasp at the truth that True Love can change a person, and in accepting that, they go out and change the world by chasing others with their own desires to find

True Love.

Oh, and btw,

They All Lived Happily Everafter

well why don't you do a whole lot of people chasing each other (as in a vaguely comedic routine) --- that can be visually funnier anyway.  why not do something, that's been done a hundred times before but it's not the plot so much as how you film it that will make it interesting, and the music you choose and the different angles, the times when you choose to do it from afar, from the pov of the actual person running etc. etc. all of that sh*te)

then it gives you a whole lotta time to work on getting fun, good, visually interesting shots rather than being hung up on having to get a plot line in and understood.

any number of ideas --- a poker game for example (long studious shots of tapping fingers, pulling moustaches, twisting rings, the bets, the throwing down of cards by some, the excitement of the last two players -- the different types, the gold watch wearing mafioso, the young upstart, the fat Greek sweaty butcher, the slim girl with cigarette holder, the running the hands through the hair, the tension etc. etc. the young boy losing when the cards are turned over and just running off with mafioso man chasing.....

or a standard horror that makes no sense --- just start with a swinging necklace off a tree trunk in the yard and spooky music and semi-abandoned house shadows and doors closing and then get a girl running as fast as she can away from an evil man - lots of fast cuts and weird juxtaposed, inconsequential images?

or a cowboy shoot out.  gunslingers (the costumes would be fun) taking twenty paces and then one just legs it - cos he knows he gonna lose.  you could do that with any era 17th century noblemen pistols at dawn sorta thing.

an indian bride, all getting ready etc. see her glance at an out of place shoe box, the drive to the church and suddenly as the groom shows himself for the first time - picking up her full length dress which has concealed her bright red Nike trainers --- and running hell for leather out of an arranged marriage....

or anything.  a man caught in bed with another man's wife.  by either the wife or the husband --- depending on what caught your fancy, stupid joke dialogue like them lying in bed together and him going "darling, don't you wish we were married?" and her answering  "but we are.  oh, you mean to each other."

it depends what kinda locations you got around you.  if you are close to a beautiful desert then do a desert scenario.  if you have railroad tracks or a beautiful forest you would just LOVE to shoot or a beach or a particularly gothic, stiking  house in the neighbourhood somewhere or a great cadillac that you want in it --- then use those.

if you have a particularly striking friend that you would like to use - then set the scene around them.

if you have something you would like to say that is pertinent to you, a political viewpoint or personal idea --- then do that.  you want to make a point about the unfairness of health system in the USA then put that in there; or the evils of capitalism unabated; or equally the evils of communism.  whatever.  what do you like?  if you want to do one on ADD have the guy running away, grab his adderall, swallow and then suddenly sprint 100% faster than before to escape that evil procrastination - personified as a man in a big black blob suit out to squash him flat - that's a joke....  (before i get a whole load of people jumping on my head telling me adderall doesn't actually make you run faster).

have people steal something ridiculous and obviously worthless but they all want it and we never know why.  but they trick and steal and counter steal and so on and so forth.  make it more ridiculous by the type of characters they are an overdressed suburban nightmare woman with immaculate hairdo and nails, a nigerian in very nigerian gear, an upper class englishman, a fat american --- does it matter????  just make sure that the clothes are emphatic, visually stimulating.  bright pinks on the woman.  traditional robes on the nigerian.  suited and booted englishman.  etc. etc.  and edit it non-sequentially or backward like the chris nolan memento sorta thing.  to make it more fun.

or why not take a stupid and illogical kinda laurel and hardy idea like a man lifts a suitcase from someone at a station, opens it and there is a snake inside slams it shut - runs back after the original man, gets him muddled with someone looking similar, throws suitcase at him, runs off, man opens suitcase, slams shut --- runs looking for theif man to give back case - original owner starts running after him, seeing case and thinking him the theif, tries to grab case, 2nd man won't give it thinking he doesn't understand it's dangerous snake etc. etc.

all of the above can be done without using sound too - cos i wasn't sure whether you were shooting with sound - it can all be visual and as short or long as you like.  you can do the above so that we don't see what is in the case until the end too --- ????

its kinda difficult when it's not really clear what kinda thing you like though.  if you give more background as to the kind of movie you like, the style you would want to shoot it in, the locations you might want to use around you --- i'm sure people would have a billion brilliant ideas rather than the rather overused, boring chase scenes above....

i saw the most fantastic computer animation chase scene done by a polish bloke the other day which was two people trying to chase each other through space --- it was BRILLIANT.  and used crazy pieces of wood just re-sized to look like crazy space background and the best music --- and it made no sense at all but i loved it.  i could watch it all day.  so the plot really isn't important.  the characters you choose to use are, their interactions, and the way you film it is.

good luck.

chjones38713.4467939815 How about the box person at the grocery store, running after the ADHD person that paid for their groceries and left them at the check out....Or the ADHD persons Daughter running after the car leaving her at the gas station....

Oh rayray - tsk tsk nononono.  Dumb and dumber - what a horrid movie - that's about frontal lobotomy patients - not ADHD sufferers!!

Ok - the writing thing? Well I tried to write a short novel (novella I think they call it now?) back in university.  My teacher - a kind but brutally honest man said of it - "it's grammatically correct (in most places).  Disconnected thoughts and plotlines are abundant.  Does this have a thread going through it - I can't tell!?!  Sophomoric and redundant.  Really not up to your intellectual ability." So I say no.

I did do one story for a hallow'een contest at the university that got the vote of the class - but honestly I went back years later and figured out I'd unconsciously plagiarized a short story from a writer I'd liked as a child.  Hadn't known but that made me feel less the writer.

I like writing here so I guess that's something.  Not many complain (those without "fraud" or "balance" in their names anyway).

That's good enough for me!

Hello everyone. So I know how we all adder's are the creative type. Now that I am on meds and they seem to be working, Im going back to school. Im into editing and directing, not into writing at all, Im good at taking someones script, reading it, visualizing it and making it happen. I need to do a short for school, and I thought maybe some of you might be into brainstorming and coming up with an idea, the concept is, a person ends up chasing another person.  Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated. Maybe something tht has to do with add.

How about a day in the life of an ADDer, that would be funny.  You could use all the ideas on the thread that says "You know your ADHD is really bad when . . ."

uh -- anni they did a movie about that already

u may have heard of it   dumb & dumber
