hello hyperchild.welcome to the board.. i have a 17 yr old daughter who is adhd and i have noticed she doesn't have alot of friends..she has always struggled in school to this day she is in special ed.classes. i'm sorry your parents have yelled at you...i'm sure they felt bad..i know i do when i get upset with sarah..

Im 15 and Male and half-way through my sophmore year in Highschool (first year in HS).  Lets start in the Beginnging, since i was a toddler i have been a "hyperactive time bomb" always leaving a mess, never sleeping, your typical over-caffinated person. throughout my gradeschool years (1-4)  the symptoms increased and a simple school assignment would be "put-off" then fighted to the point where it could have already been done. The main prolbem here is my parents would just yell at me or explain it in a way that the school had not and the diffrent methods would ALWAYS conflict. During the imitation middlechool years (5-6) the school prolbems stayed the same, But a new prolbem emerged. In the years past I had a small group of friends that were Geographicly close to me (This plays a part later in the story) In school I tried to make friends but failed.  Ahhhhh next comes hell on earth also know as middleschool. The elementy school i had gone to before was split between 3 yes 3 diffrent school districts. One from the town i lived in, One from a neghibooring town and one from a town about 15-20 mineuts away. Now i lived in the town with the elementry but i realized that the town 20 min away had school territory in my town and i just happend to live on it. My grades in 7-8 grade were steady B's. But socialy with only 3 friends and about 20 people i kenw going to a completely new school........I diden't stand a chance.

0 new friends teasing and physical abuse

8th Grade Highlights

Teasing Acting out made me a bit more popular.....so i did Grades slumped One of my friends mom made him go to the school that was closer TESTED FOR ADHD 3-5 SCHOOL friends not Friend Friends

"The Bad To Good" 9th Grade Highlights 

Grades DIVED Put on Strattera (I had the side affect of Severe Depression) Stopped Strattera All my other friends had friends I was off the radar Put on Budeprion (no change) put on more Budeprion (started getting mood swings) Stopped Budeprion Put on Adderall 30mg XR Grades stedy social skills improve

In conclusion things this year are improving but the social aspect is hard because I almost have to rebuild a lifetime of wrong.

I lived in the same place all my life and have lots of friends. Moving must be harsh.

Hi Hyperchild. My name is Sara, and I am a 15 year old female halfway through my sophomore year as well. I was put on Straterra 2 days ago, since I was just diagnosed. I have dysthymic disorder as well, so I am basically already in "temporary depression," and I hope that the Straterra does not affect me the way yours did. My parents always knew something was "wrong" persay about me, but they didn't know what. At the beginning of this school year, I was misdiagnosed with generalized anxiety disorder, but I went to an MD who told me I have ADHD.

I never have really had any friends either, so I understand where you're coming from.

I know what you mean by being teased...I was teased all throughout my middle school years.
