Who rx’es meds-new topic-->crazy ’logic? | ADHD Information

Well—I’ve been off stimulant meds for 1 month and now I really realize how beneficial they were..  Long story short I gotta start the ‘finding a doctor process’ again.  My concerns are related to my lame insurance coverage.  I can more easily see a Neurologist (and it’s cheaper) than a psychiatrist.  Do many of you ADULTS see a neurologist for medical management?

I just see my family Doctor.  He had to have a full workup and diagnosis from a mental health professional first. ( I went to a Behavioral Psychologist for diagnosis - no other behavioral methods would work and he suggested the medical treatment because I had done all I could behaviorally)

My family Doctor perscribes the meds, and monitors my  BP, allergies and questions me thoroughly about how things are going. He also insists on seeing me every 2 - 3 months to monitor my progress.

My family doctor is also who prescribes my meds. My insurance never covered any of my ADD medications though so I had to pay full price for them. I'm on an anti-depressent now instead but still even with insurance it's .

Yeah, I've actually been accused of "thinking too much"

I've always thought that was funny cause really there are times when I just don't think at all!!

Thanks for your responses—I ‘m a dork to not  think about asking the new primary care doctor for medication.  I’ll make an appointment.

 New topic—

Do you think over-thinking issues is more of a problem in ADHD people.  I’m constantly annoyed that I didn’t think of the EASY (elegant) solution.  I’m always reaching a conclusion from a totally bizzaro/off-the-wall approach.  It’s a nice convoluted (i.e. creative) way of thinking for some things—but not for ‘life management’ skills!

 I even expect others (and software programs) to have really complicated logic and I get annoyed when it’s simple.

I'm usually thinking too much about something unrelated to what I'm supposed to be doing!
