New, Probably diagnosed | ADHD Information

Hi, I have been looking for as much information on ADHD that I could find, and i found this forum maybe some people can help me.  I am 22 years old, and when i was younger they thought i might have ADHD but the doctors ruled it out because i could sit and watch TV or play, but what i have been learning is that people with this condition are able to hyperfocus attention on a few things, and have problems with everything else.  I really didn't have much problem growing up, except for my inability to sit still, or my big mouth always getting me into trouble.  However recently in the past 6 months things have changed, my hyperactivity is the worst it has ever been and i can't concentrate on anything.  I also am having some visual problems but i can't find anyone to comment on this who has the condition (PLEASE IF YOU READ THIS, AND HAVE VISUAL PROBLEMS PLEASE REPLY AND TELL ME WHAT YOURS ARE LIKE) for me my vision feels almost like i am in a dream everything seems so slow moving, and i understand what i am seeing, but at the same time i don't it is so hard to explain.  Right now i am being treated for a condtion known as psuedotumor cerebri, for problem with headaches and increase intercranial hypertension, but in a week or so i will be put on some type of ADHD medicine as a trial to see if it helps.  I am really having a hard time getting through the day now, i make all of these plans and i cant seem to follow through with any of them.  I have 2 dots in my brain that are a build up of white blood cells which could be signs of MS or somethinbg else, but i have to wait 6 months before my next MRI to see if they have changed at all.  I know that this is my problem, i talk to my GF on the phone and i just zone out, i zone out in class, i always an zoned out.  In the past few weeks everytime some explains something to me that takes more than a few minutes i lose tract of what is going on and in the end just tell them i get it, but i almost never do.  I am intelligent i did very good in highschool, but this problem is finally hurting my academics, and this is a major problem for me.  I was always treated like crap in highschool so dsoing good was all i had, but now that is going bad.  Can someone please respond and tell me that they have these problems.  Espaically the vision, which is the worst, because as i walk through the world it almost seems as though my mind is losing the ability to focus in on my environment, which if anyone knows about life, is a major problem.  Thanks for listening.

I have not seen where visual problems are connected with ADHD but I am a newbie so keep searching.  I know about the zoning out.  I forget what I am saying when on the phone.  It is embarrassing to say the least! I hope you have talked to your doctor about your visual distubances.  I am sorry I could not be of more help but if you need a friend to talk to I am here.  I just discovered this site today.

Hi dixy, thanks for you quesiton.  I just joined the forum do to your interest and question about Stattera.  I answered your question and established a survey to give Statera users a chance to report negative side effects.
