I use Outlook and it has really helped me this past year to keep appointments. Now that I'm going to a new job, I hope that they also use Outlook. It is really helpful when people set up meetings and can put them on your calendar for you.
My resolutions this year are:
To clean up my house-- I am off from work this week to do just that. Yes, it will likely take me the entire week just to clean. It's taken me 3 days just to clean the living room. To try to maintain my clean house by resolving to spend 15 minutes each night right before bed to clean. To lose 80-90 lbs. Not only is ADD making my life unbearable, but being a fatass is also making me unhappy. I'm not living my life to the fullest. To learn to play the guitar. Just bought a Washburn D100 acoustic. To learn how to ski, hike, and kayak. I love outdoor activities. This is related to my goal of losing 80-90 lbs. To try to deal with my financial issues and avoid late fees and penalties. If I added it up, I've probably lost about 00-2000 in fees this year alone. To address my ADHD. I am seeking treatment, and I know that none of the above will be possible if I don't get the worst aspects of ADHD under control. We keep a calendar on the refrigerator that has the days events helps alot. TMobile Sidekick - Awesome, Couldn't do without it now. When I first discovered that I had ADD, I went straight to Franklin Covey - there's a store near me - and bought a new planner. I bought a RED one so that I would see it in the room and USE it.
It didn't work. I just forgot to open it. I forgot to write in it. I carried it everywhere but never used it!!! Insane!
I finally just quit carrying it around. I just reminded me of how ADD I was and how much I was struggling to organize myself and how impossible it was for me.
I'm crawling now (doing the exercises from the book that has helped me so much) so I should try the planner again and see if I can handle it.
Yeah, every time I buy a paper planner, I forget to use it. I think Outlook works better for me because 1) I'm always on the computer anyway, and 2) others can put meetings on my calendar and I can set up meetings as easily as I can send an email. I do have trouble, though, remembering to put things on my calendar that don't come through as a "meeting request". If I get a regular email, I will sometimes forget to copy it over to my calendar.
