PLEASE HELP AGAIN!! | ADHD Information

Winter, I highly recommend you speak with your doctor. Any medication should be montiored and supervised by your doctor, especially changes in medication or dose. Everyone responds differently to stimulant medications so someone elses experience may not be the best educational tool and advice about them should be left to the experts. Decisions about treatment should never be made based on fear and while its always good to get opnions, a response or reaction to ADHD medication is very individual and thats why patients go through a trial of meds until the right med and target dose is found. As others have mentioned here, please speak with your doctor.get on wellbutrin, or lower the adderall to 10 or 15.  work your way up slowly with the meds. adderall is twice as potent then ritalin.   so you have been taking 40mgs of ritalin.  pretty high with just starting out. you could always switch to concerta. just my advice to you. talk to your doctor.

I previously posted about my bad "come down" from adderallXR (20mgs).  I've been so nervous after reading all the bad things about it on this board that I've stopped taking it the last two days.  Today was the worst (i didnt take it).  I felt more depressed than ever.  I don't care about anything, I don't want to be around my friends.  I'm so scared I'll never be happy again.  I don't know what to do... is my body just messed up b/c I took it those two days then just stopped? The strange thing is I have tried Ritalin before (20mgs as well) and I felt weird that day, but the next day I was fine.  But this adderall has a rolling effect on me.  What should I do? Should I keep taking it and see what happens? It DOES help me concentrate and focus... or should I talk to my doctor about this already even though Ive only taken it twice? Please help me!!!!

If it works for you without any dangerous side effects, then I would continue taking it.  The reason why you could be feeling bad is as a result of the come down because your body isn't used to the medicine, and it might not be fully out of your system yet.  Drink a lot of fluids, preferably not caffeine, and give it a week.  If you really just don't feel right, call the doctor.

Hey girl, I am sorry you still feel that way. I am not going to say whether you ahould stop taking it or not, and nobody else should either. You are the only one who knows your body so just listen to it. If the negatives are much more severe than the positives quit taking it till you can talk to your doc and see how he can help you. You have only been taking it for 2 days your body is still not used to it so it won't miss it if it doesn't get it. It might be hard when you stop taking it but if your on the bottom the only place left to go is up.

That is just my uneducated answer.

You should go to webmd.com and read all about adderall. It helped me alot and has calmed me down. I said I will give it a week if I am still having the side effects, I am going to ask to change. But check out that website, Hope it will help.
