Is Wellbutrin any good? | ADHD Information
Right now I'm also on Celexa for depression and has been just okay. I've gone from Paxil, Zoloft and now Celexa and they all are about the same, they kind of numb your feelings and keep you at an even keel but they really don't make you happy. Celexa and Adderall are a bad combo for me and create a lot of nervousness and anger. I think I have ADD without the H, inattentive ADD maybe the Wellbutrin would help since my I'm always tired too. You're absolutely right, I would highly recommend Wellbutrin if you're always tired. It doesn't numb you at all like the SSRI's, which I hate with a passion. I've also mixed SSRI's with Adderall, and I know exactly what you mean about nervousness, you get really paranoid. That's because the SSRI's numbs you, and Adderall speeds up your central nervous system, so you feel what it feels like to feel again for a few hrs when you take Adderall. It's not like that with Wellbutrin though, thank the lord! I'm bipolar, as in im always super excited about the little things in life, and SSRI's just leveled me out, so I couldn't be sad or happy. I was simply boring, and you have no personality whatsoever, not even a sense of humor, you're simply dead! Anyhow, Wellbutrin made me want to work all the time, so give it a try, it's great stuff!didn't work for me...Wellbutrin isn't a stimulant, it acts like one for certain people. It is most commonly prescribed for depression, and can also be used for ADD. I wouldn't recommend it for someone who is hyperactive, because it's prescribed for chronic fatigue as well, and you'd end up getting mania. Personally, I've been on Adderall and Wellbutrin, and Wellbutrin is a very mild drug. It doesn't really work like a stimulant, you can't really tell when you've taken it, like you can with Adderall. The only way I knew is because I have chronic fatigue, and it turned me into the energizer bunny. I have never mixed Adderall and Wellbutrin, but heard the combo is quite beneficial for some. Since Wellbutrin is a re-uptake inhibitor of the two neurotransmitters dopamine and norepinepherine, Adderall is much more potent with Wellbutrin. In other words, you can take a much smaller dose of Adderall with Wellbutrin.
Welbutrin works on the depression for me, allowing me to think clearer but I don't think it really has much affect on my ability to focus. My concentration is better somewhat because of the way it eases the depression and some anxiety. I can definitely tell the difference when I am off it for a while though.
It really isn't considered to be an ADHD med anymore. Its better than nothing but it isn't really a stim and won't have the same affect as one. Many people don't notice any difference on it, so its one of those things you have to try and find out how it works for yourself.
Would like to try Wellbutrin and wondering if anyone has had success with it? Thinking about ditching the Adderall, don't like its side effects. Heard it's a stimulant but wondering if it's in the same family as Adderall?
Some fish is okay like tuna, red snapper and cod. We used to have walnuts on our farm along with pecans, those were the days. The navy has navy coffee, it gives you a real kick! That's funny oily fish drug, maybe something new, LOL! Sounds a little stinky too! Do they serve Columbian coffee on the ship?
omega 3 fatty acids - Fish and Walnuts? Don't know
personally, but there is research on this. Getting results from
diet would take some time. Anni swears by crawling..?? - I
don't know, I'm happy with drugs. Not having a lot of side
effects.
for depression, really Lexapro worked best for me, better than
Wellbutrin even - Well good luck. When do you have to leave?
I do the fish oil and drugs. It all sounds fishy to me!
Yea, were all different all right. Got to get off the Adderall because of navy issues. Maybe I could try a natural thing for that and just use the Wellbutrin. Know of any?
I've known people that Wellbutrin has worked for - about 300mg a
day. Everybody is different ya know. Try it. I take
Wellbutrin and Adderall together.
It did work for me before I was officially diagnosed with adult add however it doesn't work near as well as Aderall. I would suggest trying it and if you can work well on it then stick with it. As with all medications you have to weigh the side affects against the benefits.
I haven't taken Wellbutrin for add, adhd, but i did take it to stop smoking! It made me so happy that i didn't want a butt. I was almost Giddy, while on it. I would strongly suggest it to anyone who's been told they have an attitude problem! I felt great.
As a mother of 2, i find most days that i have an attitude problem, and want to go back on wellbutrin just to feel better.
wellbutrin??? did nothing for me.
I've been on and off Wellbutrin for several years now for depression.
Emotionally, it has never helped to lessen or relieve my depression; however,
it has helped with my energy levels. As for it being a substitute or
alternative to Adderall, I would say there is no comparison. I don't have
ADD/ADHD, although compared to Adderall, I have not found there to be a
noticable difference in concentration/focus with Wellbutrin alone.
For me, Wellbutrin allows me to get up in the morning and gives me energy,
but Adderall is what truly gets me through my day. I've also noticed that the
comedown often associated with Adderall is dramatically less, if almost non-
existant, when taken with Wellbutrin, which is nice.My ds has been on Wellbutrin and Adderall for 3 months and it works very well for him. He has had no side effects.
