ADD meds tend to be apitite depresants and sort of trick your brain into thinking you are full so its nothing to worry about. Just make sure that you do eat.  also because they are stimulants they increse your heart rate and matabolism so loosing weight is very common. Oh about the talking too much i get that too i take ritylin 20mg that i take for homework.

P.S. if i spelled anything wrong sry.   Halfbr33d38740.0391087963[QUOTE=GlenW]

the urge to eat and most likely you are underfeeding yourself.  For the initial time of starting dexedrine you MUST force yourself to eat 3 scheduled meals a day.

Yeah you prob are under eating.   If your doing 40 min of cardio and your feeling drained you need to eat something 30 min before working out. Not alot just a small snack.  Then a small snack after working out.

Also i would suggest 4-5 smaller meals a day not 3 But thats just me, personaly im acualy trying to lose weight.  So far im down ~35 pounds and ive got ~50 more to go.

The weight loss is short lived so don't worry.  That's why it was never a good weight loss aid as the person had to take increasingly larger doses to keep the weight off.  If the meds are working with you soon you'll find increased energy with an increase in appetite to match.  I found I dropped about 10lbs the first month and a half then came back by 5.  Pretty stable now and believe me after a year on dex I don't forget to eat! LOL!!

DRINK A LOT OF WATER!!! Many don't keep that in mind but you must.  The dex is a diuretic (saps water from you) and you need to keep the fluids up.

The workout draining you makes sense.  Right now you're body has suppressed the urge to eat and most likely you are underfeeding yourself.  For the initial time of starting dexedrine you MUST force yourself to eat 3 scheduled meals a day.  You have to make the effort as your mind has stopped hearing your stomach.  Again that's typically temporary and will come back in the next short while.

Check with your MD if you're still worried as they can weigh you and check your health.

Yes - lbs are pounds

Another thing, while im on it, I talk to people more, Im not shy,  its like all my inhibitions are gone, for new years I took my med before going out, I danced with my friends and had a great time, for me to even start moving I need to have like 6 beers, i work the grave yard shift so I was taking my med at the normal time. Hi Guys, So I started on Dextroamphetamine 10mg 3 wks ago, I havent had soda, coffee, or alcohol, well 2 odouls for new years, haha. Ive only been eating about a 3rd of what I usually eat. I went down from 209 to 199, its accurate since Its the scale machine at the gym, I cant really tell any difference on my body but people tell me I look like I lost some weight, well my jeans wich were always tight now are loose, I wonder if its water weight or actual fat, I have been way more active than usual, focused at work, I do feel really hungry after I get home and the meds wear off, i just eat something and go to sleep, although i feel a little hungry while asleep, also the last few days I notice how im getting my appetite back, and it doesnt get me as focused as in the 1st week, I have a couple of times taken a pill and a half 15mg and it does get me there, one thing though, I went to the gym and did cardio the other day, after I got home I felt like all the energy was sucked out of my body and I felt extremely exhauted I just did 40 mins of cardio nothing crazy.  Any thoguhts? or similar experiences?forgot to mention when i do take 15mg I feel like its too much, my heart doesnt beat fast or anything but I do feel like I have way too much energy,  kinda similar to when u smoke too much pot and are too high and cant way to drop a few thousand feet to a more comfortable altitute,   Also I notice that sometimes  I fall alseep fast, the million thoughts I had tht would keep me awake are not there most of the time..IMac38943.8204513889Another stupid question from me :-}

Yes, it's normal. Thats why so many people take ADD/ADHD meds for recreational purposes, weight loss plus energy. I can't really tke stimulant meds, they don't do much for me, I have ADD and they calm me down, I don't need to calm down if I did I would be in a coma! Unfortunately things like provigil etc. put me to sleep so, I'm back to an anti-depressant. Wellbutrin worked great for me for a while , I lost 23lbs in about 3 months, but since it quit I have steadly gained and now I am back up to were I was before. Adderal and ritalin at least kept my weight constant but the side effects sucked. Sleep was nice on the meds though I fell asleep at night much faster also, like you said all the thoughts weren't there.

When I was on Adderal, I either lost weight or kept at the same weight.  Now that I'm crawling and finding success with these exercises, I'm gaining the weight back again!!

Darn crawling!!
