Crawling helps me the most. I'm not on meds and I am following the exercises in the book Stopping ADHD . You can read more about it in the "crawlers unite" post on the alternative thread. There are a few of us there, trying it.
-daily aerobic exercise
Believe it or not, the addition of a multivitamin makes a big difference to me. But it has to be something without all the extra "stuff" they put in a lot of them. ( herbs for energy etc..) I take your basic one a day vitamins at night just in case there is something that might interfere with my medicine in the AM.

working up a sweat helps me. And meds. Vitamins certainly keep me healthy too. And meds. Then making sure I stay hydrated helps too.
THERAPY. With or without meds that makes a world of difference. Helps find new coping methods for those quirky things we do and say.
Simplify your life helps a great deal too. Keep things from getting out of hand and the anxiety stays clear.
Oh - and meds help too.
Thank you and goodnight. Be sure to tip your waitress.
Brewers Yeast tablets. A friend of mine suggested these. She takes like two a day, where as 3 or 4 a week do me just fine. I feel like a have more 'snap' during the day and I seem to sleep better at night too.
Plain ol' water seems to make a difference too. If I'm not getting enough on a daily basis, my brain will start getting sluggish.
What things work best for your add besides meds. Besides meds??? A PDA/cell phone to keep track of myself/ appointments/ schedules/shopping lists/to do lists/notes......Not eating a lot of sugary foods makes a big difference (I have a sweet tooth). My mood is better and my brain is less foggy when I don't eat a lot of sweets.
Keeping a notepad with me to write lists and reminders.
Being on a regular daily routine and doing things at the same time each day so they become a habit and then I remember to do them.
