When is it a problem? | ADHD Information

Share

I am 25 and was diagnosed with ADHD about a week ago.  I was also diagnosed with a moderate case of deppression and an anxiety disorder.  I am happy to finally understand what that thing was that I always thought was wrong with me.

My question is...   I was prescribed Concerta for my ADHD.  Concurrently I am taking Citalopram for my deppresion.  I strated for 3 days taking 18mg of the Concerta.  Then uped my dosage to 36mg.  I am supposed to get up to my full dosage of 54mg on Wednesday.  The first 2 days on the medication was great.  I have never felt better in my entire life.  I was working at my desk at work in tears over how happy I was.  On Saturday, wich was my last day of my 18mg dose I crashed and slowly burned.  I was extremely anxious, irratable tired and my head and stomach hurt.  My ADHD symptoms were still in check but it seemed like everything else was not.  It climaxed at a basic melt down on Sunday where I was very depressed and just layed around for hours.  I did not even react to my two little girls and that is something I have never donne.  I feel much better than yesterday as I forced my self to eat plenty and keep lots of fluids in me.  That is something that I had not done the past few days.  SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO are these things just parts of dealing with ADHD and the medication?  Is this just my body adjusting to the medication?  I know that the depression had alot to do with my diagnosis earlier in the week.

Any help and suggestions would be greatly appreciated.  If someone could please respond by Wednesday if possible, that is the day that I go up to the full dosage of Concerta and I am very nervous.

THANKS

Don't worry guys I am used to dealing with stupid people.

And to answer your question ADHDisfraud I would never medicate my little girls.  My wife and I prefer to just spike thier sippie cups with Vodka it is much cheaper that way.

The fact that the drugs were perfectly timed with all of the problems you were having does not mean that the drugs had anything to do with it.

Heroin is always a good high, have you tried that yet?

And by the way, we all hope that you have gotten your two little girls on the drugs by now?

Thanks for addressing that resonse to BOSOX1980 from ADHDisFraud person.  I was horrified to see his response.  I am brand new to the site.  Does he appear often?
