Welcome sweetie!

This is a great forum, and yes....you aren't lazy, crazy, disorganized, flakey or a total goof.  Glad the meds are helping.

Hugs to you and the babes.

Hi Everyone!

It is so refreshing to find this board! I am a 29 year old gal in Canada and was diagnosed with ADD today and given a prescription for Dexedrine (5mg). I took my first one and OMG what a difference! I could actually think straight!

As you can probably tell from my username I am rather "crunchy" and fairly holistic.  I don't like being on any kind of med, but I finally caved in and went to the doctor and basically what I have been going through the last 15+ years is finally making sense. I'm not lazy, unmotivated or crazy! :D

The only sad part is I have had to stop breast feeding my two babies (my daugher is almost 2 and my son is 3 months). I loved my nursing relationship with them and it was really hard to stop - it took a lot of thought and consideration, but I felt I am going to be a better mom this way. Tonight I actually spent a whole evening with my kids and wasn't distracted away from them at all. That has never happened before, so I am happy about that.

Anyways, just wanted to say hi and introduce myself. I have a feeling I'll be a regular on this board!

:o)

Hi Organic!

Welcome to the forum!  There are very nice people here so don't hesitate to make any comments or ask any questions here.  We're all in this together!

BTW, I'm glad to hear the med is working so well for you!  I know, it sucks to have to take drugs sometimes.  But you know, sometimes it really does make your life better in the long run.  It has for me!

Welcome Organic! Isn't it great to know that your not alone? And you actually excepted your DX unlike me. I was in denile for the longest time!.  Now I have excepted it and I'm on Adderall. That makes a difference. You'll fit right in here.

I've heard breast feeding is a very special bond, but I think you did the right thing. Just think of the enjoyment you will have with your little ones now and in the future. We're all normal here, now we have to convince the rest of the world!

P.S As you might have guessed by my user name, I'm  half Puerto Rican and I was raised by my non- Hispanic family(moms side), so I always felt out of place! And not knowing I had ADD also.

Gday and welcome !
