Quit Adderall for WellbutrinXL today... | ADHD Information

I was on 20mgs of AdderallXR.  It was very unpredictable, it started out amazing, then I'd crash and feel miserable, then i'd take it again, and feel ok then just kind of sedated and out of it, then I'd feel extremely happy, then horribly depressed.  I have a psychologist that tested me for ADHD, and my doc said the wellbutrin would help w/the depressive part.  I start tomorrow... today I didnt take any meds, so i'm headachy, tired and pretty out of it w/no energy... but I dont feel suicidal, so its like a vacation compared to yesterday :)

I'm so sorry to hear about your episode!  I've heard a couple online like that recently and I do wonder what is underlying in that.  With ADHD the meds work on neurotransmitters that should lighten your mood not send you tumbling.  Good call to go off it.

Welbutrin I hear is being used by many with ADHD meds - and some alone.  So far I hear people speak positive of it.

So you get your ADHD help from your family doc if I understand? Have you tried a psychiatrist with experience with ADHD?? That could help a lot as there is always the possibility of a misdiagnosis.  Also - ADHD is helped SO much by therapy!! I can't emphasize that enough.

I wish you well.  That would have turned me off help if I had that happen too.

How many mg's?

I couldnt take the adderall anymore.  Being on that pill was the worst week of my life.  Yesterday was the last straw, i went shopping, i was spaced out but relatively ok.  Driving home, I felt great, then when I got home, I sat on my bed and cried for 3 hours straight.  I felt so low, depressed and I wanted to die.  That was it for me. I have NEVER felt that way prior to my taking of adderall. I went to the doctor today and she perscribed me 150MG of wellbutrinXL.. anybody have any experience with this?
