This board is a very supportive place.
And with ADD, there are lots of things to deal with, not just one. Meds, activity, counseling, researching and most of all, giving yourself a break.
The first blessing is realizing that it ain't you and alot (if not most) of it can be fixed (or at least understood).
Hi,
I may be presumptuous but it seems that perhaps some of your problems did not stem from ADHD but the fact that your parents refused to recognize that you had it! I'm going to look into ATTEND, I've never heard of it.
I think you've taken the first step, acknowledging you need help and trying to get it. This board is very supportive and has been very helpful for me. I hope it will be for you too. In addition to taking medicine try to find your passion, exercise and not be so hard on yourself.
Hope this is helpful.

Welcome! You will be understood here
. You just discribed alot of my life.
Also maybe talking to a theripist might help.
If you are in the service, you can bet that someone notices that you have a problem. Unless you had to sign a paper that said you don't have ADHD, you should talk to your dr. There are meds now which are not stimulants and it is possible that one of those will be right for you. If you did falsify records, then the decision is up to you.
If you don't take steps to correct the problems you are facing, you will always be in the same boat, running from one problem to another. I hope you don't take this as mean spirited, I just don't want to see you go through life afraid of being "found out" as having ADHD. It is nothing to be ashamed or afraid of.
We will encourage and support you every step of the way! You came to the right place.
