i'm currently taking adderall xr. 20MG a day. been on it for about 4 days now. first couple days were okay. but this morning i felt a strong "speed" like affect. in a negative way. felt dizzy. couldnt focus cause i felt to speeded out. that feeling went away in about an hour.
my DR. also prescribed me focalin xr to try if adderall doesnt work well. does anyone have any input on benifits/disadvantages focalin xr versus adderal xr?
I'm not sure how you could've felt a strong "speed" from adderall xr. Are you sure it's a capsule and not a tablet you're taking? If it was infact adderall xr - capsule, then I really wouldn't try the instant release - tablet if I were you. Reason being, adderall xr slowed me down, but that's obvious because it's great for ADHD, as in slowing down the hyperactivity, but not great for ADD. Instant release works way better for ADD from my personal experience. I have bipolar, I normally talk really fast, and get really happy sometimes for no reason, but with adderall xr i couldn't talk fast no matter how hard I tried. I wrote at the speed as if I had a few tranquilizers in my system, it was horrible, once again I couldn't write faster no matter how hard I tried. However, a good friend of mine takes adderall xr, and it makes him speedy, so it works differently for everyone. I have never tried focalin xr, so I can unfortunately not comment on that. Adderall xr also made my anxiety much worse, maybe that is the negative way you felt.
