Share
Looks like a cut and paste troll is back.

 I take adderall.

 Drinking is not advised.

 You wouldn't like the effect.

 I didn't.

And I waited until a saturday night.

there was enough adderall left over in my blood to totally make me wish I had never took the first drink..

Oh god. It hurts to think about it.

ugh.  I remember being awake sobering up... I would wait at least 4 days after taking an adderall before taking a belt.

dwm - that was a VERY rude thing to say to someone honestly asking a very valid question.

Alcohol is a DEPRESSANT of the central nervous system

Amphetamines are a STIMULANT of the central nervous system

Put a depressant and stimulant together and the effects are negated.  You become in essence a very wide awake drunk.  Not fun I'm sure.

The whole idea of taking dexedrine is to stimulate your brain to become better focused and more efficient.  Why blow that with alcohol??

But to call you a child is very unecessary.  I'm personally troubled by that kind of talk.  Someone else may need to grow up some.

Can I drink Alcohol?  What are you 12?

Good God! maybe your not ADHD and you could drink as much as you please what a wonderful life NOT

Can I Drink Alcohol? Sure Why Not?

Hi! Monkey 311, Standard warning, do not use alcohol when using meds. Are you sure there is no history of heart problems in your faternal or maternal families? is the first question i would expect to be asked. As Kaks has said already, inform yourself, be moderate in use of alcohol consumption... but until you know the actual risks in your own particular case, Think!! what would you say to loved one, family member. Eh?

I believe that Dextroamphetamin is what we call Amphetamin here and then it's a question of personal judgement.

When I got my meds my Dr said specificly that I should definitely not drink alcohol while takeing them but when I asked what would happen if I did she didn't have anything to come up with. So I think it can be a bad choice to drink but I doubt it's lifethreatening.

So I reason like this:
If I know I'm gonna drink in the evening, I don't take my 5pm-pill.
If I've already taken my meds and I want to drink, like if someone calls and say "hey lets go out and grab a beer" then I drink but I take it easy and don't get to drunk.

That's just how I do.

/Kaks

Most people (doctors, pharmacists, etc.) will advise against taking stimulants and drinking. Common reasons are that it may make you tired and/or dizzy. It also puts extra stress on your heart and your body. I would suggest talking with your doctor/pharmacist about your individual situation before going ahead.

For me, if I've recently taken my adderall, I won't drink. Other than that, I just try to drink in moderation.

I am a semi reguler drinker and take my Adderall every day.

If i take both pills during the day I may have 1-2 drinks on a sat night and be just slightly buzzed, but otherwise be fine. I donot drink in excess when im on my meds. When im off my meds after a whole day or maby 2 then i dont worry about how much ive drink and i havent had a problem.

Althou I wont have anything to drink untill june :( i can lookforward untill then :)

I just asked my pharmacist this question because we are going to a Superbowl party on Sunday and I would like to have a couple beers.  (I take Adderall) She said it was safe in the sense of interactions but not safe in the sense that you may become much more tired and dizzy than normal, definitely no driving and things like that (which I would NEVER do anyway).

So now I'm not sure what I will do because if it makes me more tired that would stink - I want to enjoy the party.  I'm not a big drinker but a couple beers and chicken wings sound good with the whole football party atmosphere.  If I decide to drink I won't take Adderall at all that day.  I'm actually more concerned about how I will feel the next day.  I hate that hungover crappy feeling

CAN I DRINK ALCOHOL IF IM ON DEXTROSTAT ADD MEDS? DEXTROAMPHETAMINES, I MEAN IM NOT ON THEM TODAY I TAKE THEM DURING THE WEEK, I HAVENT HAD A DROP OF ALCOHOL SINCE I STARTED TAKING THEM, IM WONDERING IF ITS OK TO HAVE A FEW BEERS TONITE.

Is Dextroamphetamines Adderall?

I think it's okay, but ck w/ your doc.  When I drink, once, maybe twice a week, I only have two drinks at the most. It could be how much you drink that could make a diff. with the meds., I don't know.  I don't have any adverse effects (I take Adderall).
