I had a question about Strattera.  Is it me or would you say that it is true that when taking it, it works to give you energy.  I mean, does it wire some of you?  I notice my heart seems to beat faster.  And I've noticed that lately it has made me feel nauseous.  Anyone else?It made our son feel ill. It also worsened his behavior at home. We made him take after full stomach only. This also caused him to sleep daily after school. He also fooled us into thinking he had taken it but really didn't. We found it all around the house. My son (age 9) is taking Strattera - for about 8 months.  I was wondering if anyone else has noticed these effects.  I cannot have him miss a day of medication - when I do he is lethargic and very sleepy the following day.  I have also noticed many more angry outbursts than when he first started taking it.  His teachers have recently been reporting that he is not able to focus in class and is becoming distracting to other students.  strat sucked.

I took it, I had bladder control problems. muscle spasms.

I tried Stratterra for about a week and can tell you I did NOT like what I felt!  It didn't give me energy rather left me feeling like walking in deep mud - just dragging myself to work.  I would phase out and focus on a point in space and need to be shook out of it during conversations.  Not a pleasant feeling at all.

Many have mentioned agression and anger while taking stratterra.  I do know it works on epinephrine (adrenaline) so that could make sense.

I think stratterra should be last resort when other meds fail from what I've seen.  For most it doesn't seem to work as advertised.

It makes my son sleep more and it calms him down. My husband said it clears his head. My friend says it is the only thing that works for her add and she can

have a productive work day.

I did notice that my son did sleep better on Strattera - it was almost like it allowed his body to calm down.  However, the mood swings were horrible.  I have recently switched him to Concertta, and the sleep problems have returned, but no more horrible mood swings.

Well the mood swings have gotten better. The holes in the wall are still there and I told my husband to leave them for a while. The anger and tantrums have been there  for 17 years. But he is doing better. He has to learn about life and he is getting a big dose in College.
