Spacing out/Impulsive behaviour | ADHD Information

What do you think ? Just an opinion please nothing more.   My former workplace was subject to 3 changes in title over the past two years. In doing this we lost conditions of work and did not gain as a result of this. We lost our 9 day fortnight, status as public servants & little things like supply of bottled water and smaller things. This led to a continued poor workplace morale and negative though process. It led to be being depressed anxious more than I usually am and generally doom and gloom feeling.   Along with this it tripped off my ADHD and led to me acting further impulsive than I normally am. I "spaced out" did not know what I was doing (did multiple tasks) worked as a motor driven impulsive employee. I did tasks under robot function normally and this made things worse.   I began to forward emails things I was not aware I was sending or forwarding and did not wipe (poor organising skills) the existing one I had on my pc.   I was dismissed on the 10th of this month. Do you believe that the changed work environment and the negative feelings could have help promote this factor ??

Sounds very much like ADHD behavior.  I suspect that you were hating the job you did and began to impulsively set yourself up for a blame-free dismissal.  It beats quitting and removes you from the stress.  Problem solved from the ADHD mentality.

I have done that before.  Had work that made me physically ill sometimes.  People I hated/hated me.  Situations that drove my ADHD impatience and anxiety through the roof.

With meds and therapy you'd possibly have been able to work through the mess you had there - but why?  Maybe you should thank your ADHD for removing you even if it was passive/aggressive.  There are better ways once you get back on your feet.

Do get some therapy - and consider medication.  I'm assuming you have neither.  With some urge control and behavior modification you may even find a job you love!

Thanks Glen you are mostly got it in one. Thanks MateChange and stress bring out the worst in everybody.  If that everybody has ADHD then yup, it will make it worse.  I am actually fairly coherent and functional even without meds - as long as my day is completely routine without any distractions or interruptions.  Anything that forces me to change my focus throws me off - then another distraction - get thrown further off - until eventually I am standing in the hallway turning in circles trying to focus on 5 things at the same time.  Negativity counts as a big source of distraction for me.
