Contemplation - This is on my toilet doorI asked God for strength, that I might achieve. I was made weak, that I might learn humbly to obey… I asked for health, that I might do great things. I was given infirmity, that I might do better things. I asked for riches, that I might be happy. I was given poverty that I might be wise. I asked for power that I might have the praise of men. I was given weakness, that I might feel the need of God. I asked for all these things, that I might enjoy life. I was given life that I might enjoy all things… I got nothing I asked for - but everything I hoped for. Almost despite myself, my unspoken prayers were answered. I am, among men, most richly blessed!
(by Roy Campenella) Thanks for sharing that "right now" someone reading it, Needed to read something like that at this moment. Cheers, Ryan 1950. ![]() ![]() Hi Rae, thanks for sharing that. It was truely beautiful! Ryan! Welcome back! Rae, I have read that before and it is so beautiful and profound. We really can use what He has given or allowed to happen to us to benefit others and increase our joy. I bet everyone of us here feels encouraged when use our experiences and knowledge to help others on this board. Thanks for the reminder! Barb Yes the interesting thing is my 11 year old daughter - who suffered a brain injury 2 years ago and found this message out of a book on hope. It must have meant a lot to her and she stuck it on the dunny door - where I put all my affirmations etc that I want the kids to read. Children are most beautiful. |
