It sounds less like hunger and more your mind trying to occupy time because of the extra energy and focus given by the adderall. 60mg is a tad bit steep - how did your MD bring up the dose? Did he start you small at 5 or 10mg or right up high??
Many times too much adderall can cause unusual behavior that should be looked at. Often dropping your med dosage 10mg every 2 weeks can alleviate the troubles you are finding.
I too eat ravenously sometimes while on my dexedrine. But I make sure I output as much energy as the level of hunger I feel. I work hard at my job and it pays off in not finding a weight issue. But if I'm at home on the weekend I drop my dose from 20mg twice daily to 10mg twice daily or once if I'm feeling good.
It just seems to me that 60 is a bit on the high side. Only your physician can say for sure. Remember there is an alternate in the methylphenidate family (Ritalin) and they work well but in a different way than adderall.
Do check on it - sitting and wondering does no good ever.
Taking Adderal for me made me eat less. I just didn't feel hunger pains as much. Now that I am not taking any meds, I have gained a little weight. But I think that ADD in general made me eat more, I would kinda float around the house and munch when I was distracted.
I didn't take as high a dose as you are taking, maybe that has something to do with it and your metabolism. When I was taking Adderal, I ony took 20 to 30 mg.
