I have heard of melatonin and even used it mysself. Has anyone tried it with a young child. My son is eight and taking concerta and is having difficulty falling asleep at night. His bedtime is eight thirty but I usually catch him awake as late as eleven.
Melatonin works for me. I don't take it all the time but it does make me sleepy. I take the 3mg when I need it.I would like any and all suggestions for helping my 12-year-old son get to sleep, whether it be exercise, herbals, other meds, anything.
He's taking 10mg Adderall daily, and is having much difficulty getting to sleep. He's been on it since October, and the falling asleep problem seems to be getting worse. He can be in bed at a decent hour, and still not get to sleep until 2am. The morning wake-up ritual is getting painful - he's so tired then he just can't get going. Anyone got anything that works?
He is of the non-hyper variety, so getting him to get up and run around the block a few times is not a good option.
kyty: What is Melatonin exactly?
I got it at a health food store. It is a herbal capsul. I have not tryed it yet so I 5reall don't know much about it. I noticed some people were talking about it in another post though and it sounds wonderful. I am just very leary about everything until I hear alot of good things and know its safe. My sons been through alot and we now have him doing faifly well so I don't want to mess around and add something that will harm his sucsess now.
