I behave like a complete retard at home. I give a whole new meaning to the word silly. Luckily, no one has really seen this side of me. I feel sorry for my future husband and children should I ever meet them.
Find a guy who thinks its adorable to have a sweet, silly woman instead of a prissy drama queen!  I think it's a good trade off.

umm yeah.

People think I am shy at work

Could not be further from the truth!!  Same here, I can really annoy my hubby if I'm not careful. Luckily my daughter is wired a lot like me and we can be goofy together! She is not ADD but she has a lot of the hyper traits anyways -- it makes for lots of fun!

Sherry

Nope, do it at work too.

people think I'm very shy/serious  at work - mainly coz such a busy environment - hard to focus in and relax on conversations when so many going on - furthermore, am usually highly overfocussed on absorbing work tasks anyway  so internal thoughts block real engagement....

....anyone got any tips on loosening up in 'social moments' at work given the above tendencies?!

get home and ...I go crazy ..happily so ... but maybe not best work life balance and would love to connect better with work colleagues...

oh man haze, I totally understand what you mean!!

Unfortunately I don't have an answer.  I know that people started wanting to know what was going on with me after starting my meds.

People thought I had broken out of my shell. Geez, I just thought people were being friendlier to me

I am not saying to go on meds or anything like that. My point tho is if you treat your ADD symptoms naturally, behaviorally, or medically, its a good guess that the social part migh improve also.  I still have a long way to go.. now I have to learn better social cues... but that is another thread...

Sherry

I can never let go of the behavior I've been taught to have. :-(

It's very rare that I let go of my mask, it's hard for me so you who do, be glad you acctualy can. I simply don't know how to do relax.

Does anyone else have a seemingly 'normal' (albeit rather quiet) front at work then get home and make wierd noises, be excessively playful/silly (like a lttle child) and be really annoying to partner/family every day....?Haha woah my long lost twin!  If I overdo it I can annoy my husband but generally he thinks its cute :P

I cant be any different, even if I try. I have the honour of working with intellectually disabled adults, so I can be myself more at work than at home if the truth be known. No one looks at you funny if your singing your head off in the supermarket when your with five Down Syndrome men who are also singing the song from Dora The Explorer!!!!!!

And I have a three year old who is as nutty as me
