DO YOUR MEDS GIVE YOU BACK PAIN? | ADHD Information

Since I started on Amphetamin I have a terrible headache. I have had chronic headache for 15years but this is worse than I usually have everyday. I can stand it most days but sometimes I have to lay down and take meds for it.

I know it's not the same as you have but that's the only "pain" I have gotten from the meds.

Sounds like your kidney(s) is acting up. Although active in metabolism of biochemicals, if one hurts, the other should too, if it's the amphetamine. They're on the opposite sides of your abdominal cavity situated in a dorsal position.

Stop taking it for a day, and see if the pain stops. Then take it again, and see if the pain returns.

Could be from the meds, does sound like might be kidney stones...

 

The muscle tension is something i've dealt with on and off the meds....sometimes when you have Dx of ADHD, anxiety  Bi-polar or anything to do many people have trouble relaxing their smooth muscles....... this is something regulated by the CNS so maybe the meds are making you uncounciously tense up - like this is actually a function of neurotransimitters and if they are out of whack you can have these syptoms........including IBS because the same neurotransmitters are controlling the smooth muscle in the intestines.

I am having this issues as well.  It looks like I am on the med meryy go round again so I've been having some serious mood swings up and down.... Anyway I a still searching, but i'll keep you postedon what I find. If you like.

I had some kidney pain when starting my dexedrine that sounds like that.  It was at the beginning like having a kidney infection, almost like it was bruised.  It's part of how the dex constricts the small blood vessels and it went away pretty fast.

Now the only pain I get is sometimes after eating I get IBS (Irritable bowel) and it's where the muscles spasm in my intestines and keep the gas from moving the right way.  I take a mild anti-spasm med and it goes away.

Remember too that you may be dehydrated and that hurts the kidneys that way.  Try increasing your water intake.

Im on dextroamphetamine and the last couple of weeks I have been having hte worst pain on the lasft side of my back kinda like where the rib cage ends, for those of you who know medical terms, right below the left scapula, teres major muscle area,  when I lay down it goes away and as soon as i start walking the horrible pain begins.

i dont know if its a side effect of the meds or i tore up a muscle or what, but my doc seems to think its just prob a side effect of the meds, he gave me ibuprofen 800 and vicodin for pain, I am taking the Ibu but im not taking vicodin, I refuse, i think my liver has enough with the dextro and the Ibuprofen.

is this happening or has happened to any of you??? help!!!!!!!

Back pain can be a sign of heart problems. It wouldn't hurt to be on the safe side and get your heart checked out.
