You know 2tone - I'd bring them to your pharmacy and get that checked. Sounds like they may have contaminated your meds with something that could truly make you sick. Pills normally don't taste like anything much - certainly not soap.
Seriously - get them to check for trouble. They can easily exchange them and you can tell if it's you or the pills.

Realistically, pills have a taste if you don't take them with water. Aspirin, Advil, and yes, even Ritalin. Mine have a taste. But mine are Ritalin LA. Taste more like...well. plastic. YUM
alin SR is a flattish round pill wil a casing of some sort ,, its the casing that leaves a funny tasts in my mouth .. soapy ismy instinctive reasction .. perhpa alkaline might be a better approximation ..Adderall xr is capsule, but the ir has a sort of sweet aftertaste but yucky. Occasionally, I accidentally drop one in or around the bathroom sink - then they taste like soap or toothpaste.
We are all basically unmedicated first thing in the morning. Did you get something in the bottle or on your hand then in the bottle? Or do you shave or wash your hands or something every morning before you take it? Maybe, I have just had way to many ADD moments trying to get myself properly medicated in the AM.
