You might be older, but I'm definitely smaller!!!
Hey Devoted,
What caused the move? NOT that I'm blaming ya for doing it. Wouldn't mind getting out of this black hole of a town either!
Smallermom, being older, I'm soon to be smaller than you
I'm already not much "taller" Devoted, yep. I have my shirt to prove it. "I'm Still Hot--Only Now It Comes in Flashes"
DARN.......ya got me, SmallMom......I'm 5'2"!!! Oh well, close, huh?
My son loves to fly. He's really good on an airplane for some reason. As a matter of fact, I just praised him and praised him. We went out to an Italian family restaurant for dinner tonight and he acted like a normal child. It was absolutely WONDERFUL to not have him complaining about the food or anything else for that matter. {I thought I'd try complimenting him by telling him he acted like a TEENAGER!!!! Maybe that will work!!}
Port Edwards, Wisconsin. Middle of the great, beautiful state of the Green Bay Packers (ok, so they had ONE bad year), and friendly folks (we are southern friendly around here). I'd be happy to meet anybody. On one board, we actually set up a get together one summer, and it was a lot of fun for those who were able to travel. Wouldn't it be cool to meet each other and our kids? Bet I'd be the Senior Mom of the group, but, hey, I'd love that.GIRLS, Im in Nashville, NC. I also think that we should get together. I thought that my 2 kids were the only ones that were more energetic than any other. It feels good to know that. I closed my eyes and imagined that plane ride guys. I was lmaorof! I saw my son flying the plane ( he wants to be a pilot, for now, he's 5). Then my dtr. 8 would be directing everyone to there seats while she was standing on her head and then here comes tiny flying down the ailse throwing a tantrum and growling bc the bells in the cockpit scared him and were too loud. Oh yeah the stewardesses, they shut the door before takeoff and walked back down to the terminal. The wait just killed him. All our littles ones fighting with there seatbelts and growling, beating on the front of their seats and calling MAMA!!!!!
Cant u just see it and hear it? anyone can call and talk to me, 2524594404 or email.
We moved for a job change. You know how it is. We only lived in Maryville a couple of years (that was a job change, too *sigh*). Never thought I was a big city person, but I LOVE Houston! We live almost to Galveston, 3 miles from my front door to the ocean!!
Smallmom, you'd have to go some to be smaller than me and if I was any older, I'd be pushing up daisies!
I'm shocked SHOCKED that nobody lives in Port Edwards Wisconsin
I actually love our little town. Want to have a get together here? (Yeah, sure, right...haha...even Amtrack doesn't go here)
MY son is afraid to fly. I don't think I could get him on a plane without drugging him. Hey
is that a BAD thing????
OlderMom, should we say we've never even heard of Port Edwards, Wisconsin?
Devoted, are you smaller than 5 feet even?
When my son was 4, he had a panic attack on a airplane. After that, we gave him Benadryl for every flight and he did OK. Once we had our third child, we stopped flying (too expensive, too much of a hassle). Last summer, my son was invited by a favorite uncle to Boston to see his beloved Red Sox at Fenway and be the kid to announce, "Play ball!" at the start of the game. That was incentive enough to get him over his fear of flying. In fact, he flew by himself!
I was born in Texas, grew up in Alabama, then moved back to Texas. I've been living in Texas for the last thirteen years, and I have lived in Houston, Dallas, and Austin. I'm in Burlington, Iowa (southeast part of the state).[QUOTE=KJARG]I'm in Morris County also Valerie!!- Randolph

CMJ, I could probably drive your way but my van sucks.I can just imagine that airplane ride, peanuts all over the place, kids fighting with their seatbelts and then of course my son running up and down the aisles cuz he's bored lol!!!

I guess we could go Greyhound, but can't they kick you off on the side of the road for too many problems?
Couldn't ya all imagine walking down the highway with that group of kids? I don't think we'd have to worry about anyone picking us up like hitchhikers, though! I think they could call it the New Trail Of Tears and Tantrums. We are from Hamilton, New Jersey (near Trenton) hope to find someone that is nearby. I am in Bend, Oregon. CaliforniaWashington, the "Great Northwest", two months of rain and then almost a week of sun!
I'm in a suburb of the other Washington -- DC that is.
You guys are just a click away, but yet an airplane is the only way we'd be able to have play dates. That just bites my but
! Wouldn't the stewardess just love that plane ride! LOL!!! I say we all just get on one and see how it goes! Peanuts, anyone?
well i am in georgia. and i agree with that. normal children can't keep up with my son because his energy level is so high even with the meds. it would be great to find another child nearby that he can get together with and us moms can vent a little!I'm in St joseph , Missouri....It's near Kansas City, if that helps. That would be a great idea to set up play dates for our kids, and maybe adult time for us parents who can understand each others problems. Especially the problem I have of "hey , hang on a sec , he's doing something again" and the other parents don't understand why I can't just let him be like they do their kids!NJ also.....
michiganHi guys, my first time here. I had actually started thinking of a "friendship circle" lke what you guys were saying it would help the kids relate and give the parents the ability to destress. Im in new york city, if anyone is interested please let me know
I thought it would be nice if we could talk in person if we live in the same state or town because With my son I see he does a lot better in an environment with kids with the same conditions as him before he didn't have any friends and now he has two friends at school.

There's other canadians out there. Hi Hello. Ontario here right on lake Ontario. Never posted because they asked What State........ No we don't live in igloos, or have 10 feet of snow. We actually "look and act like you too". Sorry theres a story behind this one. We went to Jamaica and met a bunch of people from mostly the states, very nice people. Sitting around a large table, and one of the guys from the states, said he was surprised we act like them, look like them, talk like them and even dress like them. Poor guy, he had been drinking large quantities of rum by then. His wife hit him. We really thought it was funny, especially since where they lived ? they had more snow than us. That wasn't a slam, just one guy that really didn't have any knowledge of canadians. Yes hockey is in our blood though. Although I can't skate very well at all.[QUOTE=momiss2] We went to Jamaica and met a bunch of people from mostly the states, very nice people. FRom the get go I have known in my heart somthing was not right andI have feared he was under the autism spectrum. He has some obsessive issues and he is VERY non compliant. I called the doctors office today to try to get him to be tested and a full evaluation and was told after all the referral process it would be 6-8 months. I am at my wits end! HOw can we get answers when we have to wait so long. WE took him to Vanderbilt University last May and all they did was give him a check up and told they would call in 6 months to set up an appointment! WE had driven 4 hours!! I get frustrated too with "play" groups. I had a Sunday School teacher tell me he probably did not need to come !!!
