Beware caffeine use | ADHD Information

Share

New information published in Medical Veritas and the Journal of Orthomolecular Medicine reveals that caffeine poisons the prefrontal cortex causing ADHD and other symptoms of mental illness. Moreover, it is not a good idea to mix a stimulant drug with caffeine because the brain will become progressively poisoned. Nor should anyone taking a SSRI drug use caffeine. For additional information: http://www.doctoryourself.com/caffeine2.html  and http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1412050006/104-4999071-5460 763?v=glance&n=283155). The best, Magee

Magee - though I don't know you - WHAT A CRAPLOAD.

Tests have been run recently by american and european medical agencies that PROVE that caffeine is a very benign substance and can even be beneficial!! It does not poison - in fact for people with ADHD it can act as a safe supplement to the existing meds on the market.

I went to this crackpot's page and it's a sci-fi religion.  It's about as realistic as scientology - here is an explanation of his cult called orthomolecular medicine:

"Orthomolecular medicine describes the practice of preventing and treating disease by providing the body with optimal amounts of substances which are natural to the body. The term "orthomolecular" was first used by Linus Pauling in a paper he wrote in the journal Science in 1968. The key idea in orthomolecular medicine is that genetic factors affect not only to the physical characteristics of individuals, but also to their biochemical milieu. Biochemical pathways of the body have significant genetic variability and diseases such as atherosclerosis, cancer, schizophrenia or depression are associated with specific biochemical abnormalities which are causal or contributing factors of the illness. "

What a total load of bullpuckey!

The quotes used are mostly from the 1960s!! Boy so up-to-date!

Please research what you post before you sl*g over the same tired stories.  Heard them all before it's just regurgitated from another crackpot.

Thanks Glen!  I asked what is orthomolecular medicine on the other post identical to this one.  And here you are, helpfully answering my question.

I think we should have a poll for who is the dumbest Troll to come to this forum but I guess it would be a waste of time because I think this one is obvious. I am laughing so hard my stomach hurts.

I think I'll go set up a web-page and put in it that I discovered that if you pick your nose on a regular basis it will remove toxins from the body and cure ADHD and maybe I'll write a book about it so I can make some money. Ohhhh, I needed a good laugh!

so if my kids pick their nose it will cure adhd?..what about bipolar?you know come to think about it jamie was my nose picker and she doesn't have adhd or bipolar..sarah wasn't a nose picker and she has adhd and dillon refuses to let anyone near his nose..auntie you may have something here  Uh - hate to burst you bubble on the nose-picking theory (especially as it "outs" me as a former nose-picker) but it doesn't work at least on ADHD.  Uh - please forget I said that OK?

Well, I'll be darn.  You just gave me my scientific proof! I'm gonna be rich.  Let's see, what other ADHD forums can I post my new cure on so they will buy my "revised" book.

Auntie38759.8169675926i get some of your money...and a free book..you made me a believer...

I think in my book I'll point out if it is green long buggers that means the "hyper" is coming out.  And let's see, there are the dry crusty ones.........Well, I can't spend anymore time on this board.  I got to go out and tell the world of my discovery and ummm, your check will be in the mail soon, Sheri.m.

Glen, TMI!
. . . That has NO bearing on consumable caffeine Magee!! Get some info why don't you!?! . . .

Get your facts straight Magee - nobody in their right mind would use an MSDS safety sheet to make an example of ANY product consumed by humans!! Do you even KNOW what an MSDS sheet is? Have you ever used one in your workplace (assuming you work)?? . . .
Live and learn. The gentle approach, eh? Thanks for the pointers, Glen.

With this, http://www.jtbaker.com/msds/englishhtml/c0165.htm, I wish you all the best.

Magee - you quote an MSDS sheet? (Materials Safety Data Sheet) - it's to instruct handling and care for hazardous chemicals in a workplace.  That's for when caffeine is used 100 percent in a powdered form previous to using it in applications such as creating painkillers, adding to foods/beverages, etc.  That has NO bearing on consumable caffeine Magee!! Get some info why don't you!?!

Look - I work with potato chips.  My work entails working with seasoning.  This seasoning has various MSDS warnings including causing bleeding within the lungs, extreme irritation of the skin/mucous membranes, etc.  This does NOT make chips already seasoned a hazard!! Not to mention the MSDS sheet used rat data that had them consuming over 10,000 percent the actual consumable amount of caffeine!!

Get your facts straight Magee - nobody in their right mind would use an MSDS safety sheet to make an example of ANY product consumed by humans!! Do you even KNOW what an MSDS sheet is? Have you ever used one in your workplace (assuming you work)??

Don't throw this junk around.  To consume rat test levels of caffeine you'd have to take heart-attack inducing amounts of pure caffeine (making you vomit first).

Seriously - stay away from cults and spurious info.

Bah!!!

OMG.  This is the funniest thread I have read in some time!!  Are you sure this isn't going to end up on a SNL skit?

All those precautions for a pot of coffee Magee??  I'll be sure and wear a HAZMAT suit tomorrow morning when I stir my cup of joe!!
