I'm not in a bad relationship. I'm not in any relationship at all.

I tend to avoid love stories. Sometimes, the LAST thing I need is a story with a happy ending, especially when the people are like us: quirky, but loveable.

Hey, I'm quirky, but I'm getting me no love!

Sometimes, the best medicine for loneliness is seeing someone get blowed up!

Or a light-hearted comedy. But no one kissing!

that book you quoted from is my favorite book of all time!!! i didn't know it existed for my 23 year old, but my 13 year old knows it by heart:

i'll love you forever, i'll like you for always, as long as i'm living my baby you'll be. (my ex-husband thru out my original copy, just found another one 3 years ago - i melted right there in the store. wonderful book!!!!!)

Do you avoid love stories on TV or the movies, and hate stories about divorced or separated couples?

I do.

I like stories about people killing people now.

Geez, I hope love isn't actually supposed to be like the movies. *Gag* I think my head would explode if I tried to be that plastic excuse for a love interest. I know that the plastic excuse of a movie hero would not find me pleasant company.

I almost all movies except romantic, horror, (overactive imagination) and the really dumb comedies (they make me want to crawl under my chair). Other than that, I can get caught up in just about anything with all those pictures and scenes and... even if I later decide I didn't like the movie, I don't notice it in the theatre.

I found out today I don't like songs about divorce.

I love them. I think life could go like that if it was done. I think this is some of what detatches some people. Married life should be fun also. There is a course to teach each partner what that other wants out of a relation ship. Can't tell ya the name though. RN

Yup. I hate them, however i have never liked "love" stories any way. My relationship altho is improoving, at least from what it was. even tho i posted about being w/a perfectionist, its still getting better. Whats really funny tho is movies when a spuse cheats, or that show "cheaters", i was cheated on in my first marriage and i cant stand to watch them, The Maury Polvich show either, all his are, are on people who cheat.

off the subject a little, i have always since i was little loved sci-fi and horror shows, and now, i cant watch them, they gross me out to much and that has been real recent, almost about the time i started my meds, i wonder if there is a connection?

I don't have a bad relationship, but on the same note I am not one to watch love making scenes as this is a sore subject between dh and I ...He is awful in bed. Yea I said it and he knows it....so I will not watch.

davie I understand completely....whats wrong with people killing people at least they are being honest with there hatred.

Few things suck more than seeing how love ought to be when it ain't. I used to hate seeing it, hated divorces, hated cheating..Somehow just don't matter anymore. Numb feels much better than pain

GarbagePailKid38767.6192361111 I am a sucker for unconventional quirky love stories, like between robots. Realistic conflict in fiction is jarring and shuts me down. When things are going wrong in real life I prefer ridiculous escapist fantasy or sci fi, abstract concepts, and lists of facts over drama or romance. Anything with elements of 'human interest' is emotionally intolerable.

pretty much anything love related makes me uncomforatable, even seeing good friend couples give eachother a little peck is awkward to me, i've kinda thought it was because my parents split up when I was in 7th grade so i don't really know what a good relationship is supposed to be like, but could it be ADD related as well? this forum is helping me learn so much about myself, and you are all awesome for helping and caring and stuff...thanks
