Stimulant meds and creativity? To Parents of ANY child 6-10 years old. What are the lesser observed side-effects of Ritalin, Adderall, and other stimulant medications used to treat Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)? As you may know, some side effects of these drugs include loss of appetite and the inability to sleep. Are there any lesser observed side effects of stimulant medication? I wish to find out. My name is Rachel Fields. I am an undergraduate student at Southern Utah University. For my senior project, I designed a survey to be taken by parents of children ages 6-10 years old. I need parents who have children with ADHD and on medication for the condition, children with ADHD and not on medication for the condition and children without ADHD. On the survey will be questions about types of play behaviors you observe your child engaging in while at home. If you are interested in taking a 10-15 minute survey, go to http://www.suu.edu/it/surveys/adhd/takesurvey.aspx If you know of anybody with children ages 6 -10 that would like to participate, please give them the web address. If you would like to be entered into a drawing for a $25 gift card to Wal Mart, a $25 gift card for Target or an art kit ($25 value), then type your e-mail address in the space provided on the survey. Also if you want a copy of the results, return to the website near the end of May 2006.For questions regarding the survey you may contact me at 435-867-4777, rachfields@msn.com or my advisor Dr. Lynn White at 435-586-7913, white_l@suu.edu. Thank you. |
