Hi my name is Matt, I am 15 years old, and I have been diagnosed with ADHD. I was diagnosed with it when i was about 5 years old. I was climbing up anything, if i could get a grip on it i would climb it. I have been on medicine every since. For awhile i was off of it and then things started getting out of control, when i moved in with my aunt. I started arguing and making her really mad at me. I didn’t understand why i was making her mad and why i was always getting in trouble. I have been running from my problems every since i got off the medicine. The reason i didn’t want to get back on it was because the last medicine i was on, strattera, made me really sick. My doctor said that this was normal for some people because it is a non stimulant. After speaking with him and my aunt about the medicines and learning about them more i agreed to give the medicine another try. I now take a new medicine called Focalin. It seems to help me when i am on it but from what my aunt has said you can tell the difference from when i am on it and when i am off it. I have never really had any problems in school i am just very argumentative and very impulsive. I now know from reading about my disorder that it never goes away. I just have to learn to control it. I am working on controlling it by trying to tell myself to slow down and think but it is truly a battle, a battle inside. it is really hard and no one really understands me and how hard it is to control it. I am slowly understanding myself and how to control it i just think it will take some time. I am hoping by signing up to this board and posting this message that i will find people my age and others with this disorder to talk to. Please feel free to contact me and post on this message.
Thank You,
Matt
I would really like to talk to someone.

Hey Matt,Hi Matt,
I have a 14 year old son with ADHD and we have found relief with a product called Reliv. I also hear from another mom today that I told about the products a wihle back on another message board that her son who is 10 has gotten phenomenal results with Reliv as well. Reliv is patented nutrition and I have seen what has happened with my son on it. His social skills have improved dramatically and he is now able to focus on his school work and actually pick up a hobby. he has taught himself to play the guitar! he could sit still long enough to play video games before. you might want to think about trying a product like this.
I'm a parent of a 12 year old 6th grader with ADHD. He needs help. He's in regular school, his grades are excellent but he is always doing or saying stupid things that draw negative attention to him from the kids at school.
Now some of them are starting to call him "gay" (meaning stupid, not homosexual), and starting to tease him and stay away from him. Of course it's having a huge affect on his self esteem and he feels nobody likes him etc.
He knows what his behavior is doing, but at the same time he can't stop it. He calls it "sugar rush" behavior. He's on Focalin which I think helps him focus at school but when he's in unstructured environment like gym or lunch is social behaviors leaves much to be desired.
What can I do?????? I'm really worried about his self esteem. He's walking around thinking everyone hates him.

Foundhope, what exactly is reliv? Over the counter or Rx?
Matt,
I also just saw your post, but I just joined myself. My mom, me, my daughter and two of her daughters have ADHD. So I'm very familiar with what you are going through.
The first to get any help was my granddaughter who is now 16. She also suffered alot in school and has had a terrible time socially in a main stream school. Her family moved to Ohio and is attending a school called Lawrence School that is just for kids with ADHD.
Her sister is going to a regular school on meds.
It takes alot of trial and error to get the right combo of meds -- but IT CAN BE CONTROLLED. I know what it feels like to have a tornado of thoughts and ideas in your head and trying to grasp at something just to get it out making sense.
I hope you were able to hook up with Jennifer.
Marley24365, you can go to www.reliv.com to find out more about the Reliv. I have used it for about 3 months, and I was feeling good, thinking better and aches and pains went away. I have been off of it for acouple of months now, and am ready to go back on it again. I am an adult who was diagnosed with ADD about 4 months ago. I just got a full time job after a major move across the country. I also signed up as a distributor for Reliv. Hi Matt! I am the proud mom of a boy who has been struggling with the same issues as you. We took a chance and tried Reliv Now, and I have to say, we will never be without it. The change we have wittnessed has been incredible and the sense of peace we have found is immeasurable. If you would like more information please contact me. Remember that you are not alone, there are so many people who are dealing with ADD/ADHD. You will mature, and you will learn how to deal. An adult friend of mine described his life "as seeing 100 TV screens at once." He told me that he has learned to focus on "one screen at a time." You can do it!
Hey Matt,
I am on my grandmothers computer. My name is Josh. I'm 13 and I know what your going through. I am just like you. Have your parents ever told your teachers not to go easy on you just because you have ADHD and so the teachers decide to go harder on you than everyone else?
signed,
Josh

Hi, Matt! I'm a 15 year old girl, I just got diagnosed but I'm not on medication (I will be having a "discussion" with my mother later on this, but as of right now I'm just pushing through like always)
if you want to talk, my email is evilgenius2009@yahoo.com.
Hello Matt,
I have a son, now 14 who was classified with ADHD back when he was 7. We had alot of problems with him in school as well as socially. Our son was on Ridalin, Strattera, Aderall and so on, but they made my son into a zombie. We have found that children with ADHD, ADD have lack of minerals in their body and with extensive research we have come up with some natural vitamins that have worked. My son had a "C" average up to 6th grade on all the ridalin and other drugs until we put him on these vitamins (with NO ridalin or any other drugs) in 7th and 8th and he was on the honor roll. He was a true success story for the school. They are all liquid because my son cannot take pills. Fish oil (omega3), Body Balance (high anti-oxidants) and OsteproCare (calcium/magnesium) are the 3 liquid vitamins we give him along with a multi-vitamin. If you are interested in reading more on the Body Balance and the OsteoProCare the website is www.lifeforce.net/20458118. The Fish Oil website is http://www.vitacost.com/CarlsonTheVeryFinestFishOil-500ml. Vitamins are not the only antidote though, it takes alot of work of the parent as well. The parent must understand that self esteem if the most important factor of a child with ADHD/ADD. If that goes you will have an extremely hard time bringing it back up. Sports, kickboxing and any other active activities are very important in their lives. Sports for the activity, kickboxing for the discipline. My son is a very active soccer player and also takes kickboxing. He does not have alot of friends but these are issues that need to be dealt with as well. I hope this helps.
Hey my story's kinda like yourse. I'm 19 and was diagnosed with severe
