I need help with child possible pddnos orWelcome! I know you've already been to a lot of doctors, but I would recommend 2 new evaluations -- first, a board-certified child psychiatrist to rule in or out bipolar disorder (which is an ADHD mimicker and can be made worse by ADHD meds like Ritalin) and second, a neuropsychologist to assess for other neurological disorders like PDD and ADHD. Neuropsychologists can be found at university and children's hospitals. Without an accurate diagnosis, there's no way you're going to be able to put the proper interventions into place and ultimately help your daughter. Again, welcome and good luck. P.S. If Ritalin is making things worse, I'd recommend stopping it -- ask your doctor. our son was a sleep when I got him to VT when he first started. Since changing his diet and adding his supplement he is some better. His therapies we feel are also what made the difference as well. He only uses depakote er with what we think is a seizure issue.
Since then we have started her on A liquid form of ritalin for the hyperactivity, It was great for the first two weeks she was more responsive and better at paying attention and staying on task. But now three weeks later she is having tantrums that are out of control, and she is ginving me a hard time getting out of the car for events like school and bowling leagues for her brothers that normally has never been an issue she loved going to both but since the meds has kicked in thre weeks later she will not get out of the car for school I have to drag her kicking and screaming. If anyone has experianced this please help me , give me your imput I'd love to hear from you Sincerely Very frustrated and tired |
