strattera and focalin xr | ADHD Information
has any one tried this combo for their kids? my son saw a neuropsych yesterday and he wanted to try him on a very small dose of strattera and focalin that he takes he said if he does well on the combo that his need for the mg of focalin would go down from 10 to maybe 5, but i've read some distrubing things about strattera so i don't know what to think. the neuropsych said the strattera would make him more motivated for school and such. he's 6 and he weighs 39 lbs.My 15yo ds has been on a combo of strattera and concerta for the past 2 years. He did strattera by its self when he was 13. He was depressed and expermented with cutting himself. We took him off immediately and it seemed to get better. It could have been the age and middle school thing though. Since then we went back to the concerta 36mg in the morning and then added back the straterra 50mg at night. We just switched him from concerta to adderall XR 25mg because the concerta wasn;t working anymore. His dr wants him to stay on the strattera. She says that it helps in a different way and anyway she has on it is on it as a combination. She doesn;t like it by its self. Just watch for signs that he wasn't having before. Alls meds are a trial and error to find the perfect one and dose. Good luck with your journey.
